JUST REFLECTING ON MY PAST A LITTLE.

OK. Don't ask me why I feel to tell all of this But I do. I think this started me thinking when a few of you made a comment about watching TV or NOT. Not to defend myself. Cause you that know me. Know I don't for the most time care what others say & do. " TO A POINT " But after reading that. I started thinking about watching Tv a lot. And I guess I do to a point. Like after 6. I don't just sit in front of it 24/7. I have programs I have on the DVR that Carmen I like like to watch together. And my stuff on the Discovery Channel. There were times that thing was never on. When I started at G.M. I didn't have time to watch TV. I worked 7 nights a week 10 to 12 hrs days. Not for weeks or months. it was always those hrs. Not that you had to work them. But the money was fantastic back then. I brough home a **** load of money each week. Some guys still don't make in a month what I made in a week. But that neither here or there. I'm talking about time in front of the boob tube. Then once I got into Custom Van's back in the late 70's to mid 80's Thats all i did was work and spend time customizing my Van. Called Rollin Thunder. That was back in 1976. Before that phase was takin over by everything & everybody. Then like everything else I do. I get bored with things after a while. My interest change over nite at times. I went out to buy a Corvette. Had the CA$H in my pocket for a down payment. This was back in 82 I wanted a RED Corvette so BAD. I took a close friend now brother in law with me. Well they would give me the G.M. discount !  I told the salesman make me thingk I'm getting a deal. Take $ 50.00 off of it. And I'll buy it. He said KID I don't have to. It will sell itself. Well I told him where to put that Vet. The we got into my car and started to go home. BUT Jim wamted to stop and see a friend at a motorcycle shoprolleyes. And most of you know where that all went. 34 yrs later. I've owned 8 of them and had a blast doing it. And Its become ME & Me it. Then again. NO TIME for TV. Are you kiddin me. Tell thses guys you can't make it cause your watching TV. Oh HELL NO! laughing. I lived that lifestyle for the longest time. I loved everything about it. Well most of it anyways. Then when I moved to Mn It wasn't the same sort of thing. I was on the back burnner with ride with FRIENDS.  I still think Its a big part of me. But one day after i sold my Harley. I was talking to a neighbor and this BLACK BB Chevelle drove past us. OMG!  I yelled at him. SELL ME THAT CAR. HE yelled back get your own lol. Growning up in the Dertoit area all we did as kids were drag race and go from one drive inn to another on weekends. I had about 1/2 doz guys i ran around with back then that were really into it. So when i saw that Chevelle I had to have one. Thats where it started all over for me about what I call Hot Rods. Got that from John Force. Everything nis a hot rod lol. But i did some biker thing on a small scale and felt more comfortable getting back where i belong. Not that most of you didn't make me feel that way. But it just wasn't ME. Yeah I teased a lot of you guys. All in fun. 99% of the time I'm just teasin. And laughing. But then It got way to serious for me. Not fun any more. I poured my heart into being a VP. I was on the phone and the pc every min with our Pres back then. My phone bill was crazy. I had to get a house phone after 3 months just to keep in touch. But life changes again. I slowed down after all that crap went down. Started thinking about getting back to my roots. But didn't want to got that far again. So now I relax in front of the TV watching shows that make me thing and laugh. Not sure what my next move is going to be. Maybe another Harley maybe a custom truck. Who knows what's next. ?  One thing for sure. No officer stuff for me again. i did it in the Van club in the Bike club and then the car club. NOW I just want to sit back and watch someone else do the work. When I get into most things I get in 1000% Both feet hit the ground running. But now These feet it the ottoman and with clicker in hand laughing. I make time for ME and nothing more. Life goes on.thumbsupOK its that time. Time for the news and dinner. If I bored you too bad. If you liked it GREAT :)  No one made you read this crap ha ha ha ha. HAVE a great night no matter what your doing tonight. Rickpc.gif

I wouldn't worry about watching TV too much, I didn't see anything posted about that. TV is fine if thats what you want to do. Honestly, it's not too much different than surfing for hours on end, except for the whole reading thing. Don't forget, you're retired.... part-time at least. You can still be active when you want, and you haven't resorted to spending your mornings at the local Hardee's for coffee club. (no offense to any of the other retireds who do that, but I don't get it...????)

TV is entertainment! I watch and tape Velocity all the time. I tend to watch and surf, but I am guilty in the winter of watching TV at night. I don't really read books, only on the IPAD surfing news. If it is what you enjoy Rick, who gives a S**T what other think or say. You sound like your feeling guilty. I am surprised that more of us don't watch more TV with all the 24 hour options!

Hi BRY & Tom. Ya know what. After reading my own post. I guess it comes off  like that. This all started when I said something on the morning blog about TV. And had 2 comments about it. Like I said those who know me. No I really don't care what people think about me or say. As long as its in FUN and a smile. I'm a little more thicked skinned then that. I was just saying  what was on my mind at the moment. Yeah I guess I do watch alot of TV during the winter months. During the summer I'm outside as much as possible. But usually after 6 or 7 in the summer I'm in front of the TV. I love to read also. I read some much at times that I get burned out and don't read for months. Then I get back into it again :). So I guess I was just talking out loud cuckoo.. Thanks for your comments rolleyes......................razz

Sorry Rick if it seemed like I was cutting you down when I commented about it... wasn't my intent at all.

Now if I could just turn off this damn computer as well, I'd really get some s**t done. laughing
