Ok, well way up there in the timeline of things....
GM will be coming out with a new model for 2014 (expected date). It will be called simply the "SS". It will be a rear wheel drive and will be what the 2013 NASCAR car is based on. It is loosely based on holden's Commodore line. Expect a 6.0 or 6.2 engine. Yes, it will be a Holden (Australian GM) based chassis, it will also be limited production (think less than the GTOs) for it's introduction and water-testing. It sounds like that will also be the last of the independantly designed Holden projects and that aspect of Holden will merge with it's respective Chevrolet part of GM. Look for some cool things to come from that too as time goes on.
For all those who have been begging for a rear wheel drive higher power GM car, here it is-now go buy it. ($mid $30K range-you gotta pay to play)

It wasnt that many years ago we only had the Mustang as an american RWD performance. Im just glad to see GM and Mopar have gotten back in the RWD performance game not long ago. Those were some boring years for late model RWD cars. I would have guessed they would have used the upcoming Caprice RWD platform though, to get more use out of that vehicle then just for law enforcement and commercial use.

Dear Optimist, Pessimist, and Realist.
While you guys were busy arguing about the glass of water. I drank it!
I think they're keeping tha on as a separate platform fo now, probably to shake te bugs out but I would expect more likely to testbed fleet services. There's chev model tht's only in oddball fleet use and is basically a rebadged Saturn Vue. There's laws that say you can't just rebadge a model that has died due to brand dissolution, but there are also loopholes. Lots of BS.
The main reason for getting RWD cars back in the US was different laws ranging from fleet only lines to EPA to mileage to safety.
