I knew those Roadmasters were good for something...

In the exciting world of Drag Radial racing, you just never quite know what you’re going to see, as racers let their personalities shine with some really unique machines. A handful of racers have tackled the station wagons, attempting to make these soccer mom sedans quick and fast. But these aren’t the station wagons your mother hauled the tee-ball team to the Chuck E Cheese in.

One of those racers, Michigan runner Steve Morris, has seen the mid sevens at just a tick under the 200 mile per hour mark in his bulky Chevrolet Caprice wagon powered by a ProCharger-fed, blow through carburetor engine combination. At the annual World Street Nationals in Orlando last fall, Morris had an unfortunate excursion with the guardrail that left the wagon with some body work to contend with over the winter. Morris promised something unlike any other with a new look for his wagon in 2011, and he delivered on those words with what has been transformed into a Buck Roadmaster wagon aptly referred to as the “Boostmaster.”

Jim Plimpton at Authentic Automotive in Wisconsin performed the body repairs and applied the white base paint, and then the woodgrain wrap was applied by StickerDude to give this 3,500 pound beast a look all it’s own. The only thing that’s missing is the luggage rack and some suitcases or a Christmas tree on top. That, and the rear-facing backseat so passengers can join in the fun.

I had a '91 roadmaster in that same color combo, and thought pretty hard about stuffing my 427/TH400 into it and getting some really quiet mufflers to go have some sleeper fun.

Ya Steve Morris is legendary for his centrifugally-charged big-blocks. They're pretty much all he builds, and he makes 'em sing!
