We where down in Rosemount this afternoon to see the new Harry Potter movie and get out of the heat. After the movie about two blocks down the road I lost third gear in the Jeep. I limped into Master Transmission, guy said he’d seen this before so I should get it back latter this week.
I called Stan as we where in his op area, he was good enough to swing by and rescue us. Actually we where lucky, we where going to head down to Iowa tomorrow with the Jeep.
No problem Kevin, I was glad to do it. I know you'd do it for me too (but hopefully won't need to though!). Getting stranded on a hot day like today is not a good thing. At least it was in a populated area.
I'm sure any of us would do the same if we were nearby. It's good to know people across the area for just this reason!

Thats what the club is all about. Helping each other out. This is probably a good reason to discuss our stranded club member cards or whatever we call it. They were business cards we had made many years ago that had several club members names, city and phone number in case someone in that area broke down. A local contact was only a call away.

Dear Optimist, Pessimist, and Realist.
While you guys were busy arguing about the glass of water. I drank it!
There are two reasons for taking the Jeep. First, I need to deliver a piece of furniture to Iowa City that I just paid to have refinished. Second, my Camino gets 11 mpg going downhill, Jeep gets 22, I can save a hundred bucks in gas money. I’ll put that 'harvested' money toward a new radio that gets an AM station, that way the next time you and I are out storm chasing I can get weather updates on WCCO.
Ok there’s one more, Angie does not like to drive the Camino, I unable to get my road nap.
Good news to report, the Jeep is fix and back in the garage. Need to give ka-do's to Master Transmission in Rosemount. Done early and under budget, a very professional operation.
Only thing I know about what goes on inside an automatic transmission is there’s lots of parts moving around in red fluid controlled by a painter valve.
There is a small part in the valve body that controls shift sequencing that they have seen fail in the way mine did. In fact there is a beefed up replacement kit available to replace it.
I’m just thrilled I got it back so quickly and for less than $300.00 bucks.
