Car Craft 2011 Parking Spots

Before things get rolling in the next few weeks, I wanted to make everyone aware of something:

We will not be discussing the club parking location online.

As the years have passed, it has gotten more and more competitive as to where clubs are planning to park. In the past, club spaces have been moved or even removed as people have decided they're more important/worthy/"special" than others. Our location has already been decided, and we have a couple people who have already agreed to stake our claim and block off our spaces again this year. When the time comes near, we will send out an email to all paid members showing on a fairgounds map exactly where the space will be. If there are any questions, please email any/all of the club officers and we can discuss. We have taken into consideration the plusses and minuses from spots we have used in years past, as well as the space a club like ours needs including shade, grass, etc. Especially as the show grows in size, we're excited to be able to stake a claim and once again be known as "Chevelle Row" when people come by.

We'll have space set aside, but it's still going to be first-come first-gets for the spaces we do have reserved. We'll figure out how many when we get closer.

If someone signs up for RSE, they'll get a VIP pass into the vendor gate, and are allowed in before the other gates open... good piece of "insurance" to be sure nobody else parks in the spot before anyone gets there. :)

From my emailed registration confirmation:

Saving of areas: We want you to have the ability to be with your friends and car club members at the event. You may reserve a spot(s) for another, but the space MUST and we mean MUST be filled by 10am each morning. If not filled by 10am security will remove the roping, and the space becomes open to others. Please be considerate of others!

From what I saw I can run down Thursday and get my paperwork so I can stroll in on Friday AM. Already paid so I should be good to go.

Got my "confirmation" via email today too!
Pushrod & I will be handling the "staking a claim" duties early Thurs. morning. (He's got a buddy with the nice road-cones we used last year).

Hey All,

Just wanted to check with the club if it would be cool if I parked my 70' Camaro with you all...I know its Chevelle row...But you could put me on the end or something...

I am flying my dad in from Seattle to come with me to hang out...I told him we have to leave early on Friday morning...He asked how early....I said it will be a surprise!!! I think 2:00am is going to be a surprise!!

I'm OK with it being on an end, we'll probably need a couple spots like that anyway for the Camaro guys like Chris P and Mitch.

And there's always the grass behind "Chevelle Row" too...

We can use that space for extra parking too if needed.
