Aussie style "PowerCruise" coming to BIR

My brother-in-law just told me about this...

...could be interesting. I'm no fan of drifting, and not really into burnout competitions, but if they let us on the track for something that involves going fast rather than gratuitous tire wasting, I think it could be a really cool event.

I saw this on another local forum. Too bad I believe it is the same weekend as Car Craft.

You are right same weekend as Car Craft, I wonder if they are trying to take folks away from CC. The way the ad reads they let you do what you can't at other events.

The more I think about this, the more I think it's a big mistake for them... They have the facilities to make a cool competitive street-car event (think RSE, but with a full roadcourse and 1/4-mile track!!!) along with the car show, but they're billing it as an event to come be unruly and do burnouts and drifting... trying to attract idiots IMHO.

On the bright side, maybe there will be less idiots at CC.

If you want to drive fast around the BIR short course, you can always build a Chump car biggrin

They'll be here twice this year. June 4-5 and July 16. Our team is already registered.

I think I'd rather due CC myself.

It will be intresting to see how successful the event turns out to be. I always laughed at all those organizers out there that would plan a Saturday afternoon car show the same weekend as MSRA or Car Craft. That logic never made any sense to me if you really wanted anyone to show up.

I can already drink the beer I brought in myself and grill right in front of the food vendor stands at Car Craft .  What else can I do there I can't do at CC?
