I'll try to make the swap meet. Maybe as a seller if I have time to get ready.

Replaced the timing chain/gear set in the roll back yesterday and it's running again. I should take that to the swap meet to sell.

What's your asking price? Trade for a '67 1-ton? :)
I really don't need it, but strangely have always wanted one.

If I get my taillights back and in, I might be there with my car....

If I sell the roll back, no need for a '67 1 ton... I was thinking of swapping the bed.
$8,000 it is set up with an adjustable height hitch to pull a trailer too.
I always wanted to drive this to the GM and Truck show.

That's super tempting... despite the fact I don't need it, at all.

I didn't really "need "it when I bought it either, but it has been very handy to have. I hauled 2 cars to off site storage and home for several years. I used it to haul a 10x8 shed from our current home to a friend in New Richmond.
Well, it lost the pics of the shed somewhere Also hauls 4 post lifts intact...

My car is back together and running well so far, I will put it on my calendar!
Looks like I need a shorter intake manifold so my Cowl air cleaner fits if anyone has one. I believe an Edelbrock performer should fit. Oval port heads..

Bill, I have a couple L34/L35 iron intakes and a '69 427 Corvette low-rise aluminum intake if you're interested in running factory GM parts.

Derek, he switched to fuel injection. I don't know if that will work with a quadrajet intake. Is the Corvette intake for a Holley ?
Derek69SS said
May 29, 2023
No, that's spread-bore too.
The other ones I have to sell are all rectangle port, so they won't work either.

Bill, what intake do you have now?

Derek, I am running a Performer RPM,
and its an inch or so too high to run the Cowl air cleaner assy. I have Performer RPM oval port heads too. I do have a 1/4 Phenolic spacer to keep the throttle body a bit cooler. Thats not helping..lol

We aren't ready to let that one go either. I've accepted that it will never progress much from where it is, but we've put almost 10k miles on it pulling the travel trailer and may do more of that in the near future. It's reasonably comfortable to travel in, with coil over front suspension, power R&P, 200r4, cruise control and A/C, just VERY small passenger compartment.

Derek, I may be interested in the aluminum low-rise intake you have, is it an oval port, and how much do you need for it?

That is a perfectly good place to "pause" the build!

Swap meet was decent. I didn't shop at all... stayed by my stuff and sold what I could. Sold quite a few good smaller items, but not much "bulk" disappeared. Trailer looked just as full coming home.
I stopped and bought a '68 SS396/4spd Chevelle on the way home. The kids are unloading the trailer for me today so I can go pick that up tomorrow night.

Has an L78 from a 69 Nova swapped in and had one repaint, all done sometime in the early 70s.
Hasn't been driven in at least 25 years. Has some rust, but pans all look solid, but a bit scaly from damp storage.
Originally bench seat/4spd car, now has buckets, and an extra set of '66 buckets come with it.
Not sure yet if the Muncie in it is original to the car, or maybe from the L78 Nova... couldn't get far enough under it to see numbers on that.
Looks decent in the pic.
I take it the vin indicates real SS ?
I owned a '68 SS, bench/4 speed car in the early 70's but it was red, white stripe with black interior. Be interesting to see what the original color was on yours. Had the roller tach/gauge package too.

Yeah, it's a 138 car. Paint is about 50 years old and quarter panel lips are a bondo sculpture, but it's a good 50-footer.

1964 SS with 230/6 and air cooled PG. Engine is gone, new rebuilt 283.
Needs a little work to get on the road.
It's all there...somewhere...
Well, photobucket is acting up again...can't get the pics the size I want !
