As you may know all new engine bay wiring. No change in under dash wiring. Well my bright lights will not switch from bight to dim. I removed the floor switch. When I push it down, I don’t hear a click when I think I should, as when it would switch from bright to dim. it worked last fall, is there a way to take it apart and investigate or just buy a new switch?
Go try plugging it into your other chevelle and see if the results are the same.

Thanks, with my luck I would break the clips on the connector. It doesn’t click as I think it should. They had to put it together some way, probably twisting or pulling on the top. Or check the continuity of the switch.
If you are concerned about a wiring problem just jump the terminals in the plug with the light on, there are only 3 combinations try them all.
Sound like the foot switch is stuck though, you could spray it with something but if it doesn't "clik" it is frose up or it's stomped on too many times. I would trust it.

New one still in package. Old dimmer working. A space now. License plate light now working after cleaning socket. All lights working. Ready for a drive after a good rain.

This is a no-brainer to me... just get a new switch.
Cost analysis - $15 vs. hours of your time.
