Wondering if anyone has converter drums to Disk Brakes with 14" Factory rims?
Seems there are lots of kits that warn they may not work.
if you have done it i would like to know what was used.
Planning for next year and the "While I'm at it list"
Thanks

The wheels on your car should be compatible with disc. Many of the "accessory option" wheels were. A few of the plain, steel wheels, did come for disc, starting in '67, but are hard to find and expensive. The Rally wheels and SS wheels of the late 60's on were made for discs.

Thanks Mitch,
Seems like it would be good to upgrade when doing the front end bushings and such.
Any recommendations on the brand?

USED to be you could find all the components from a '69 up to about mid eighties, when they went to metric, in a junk yard for cheap. You can watch for a take off set up from someone going to aftermarket. As for aftermarket, most, if not all, of them come from China. How well they are kept to specs is dependent on the importer, sellers, reputation. The top name brands will be better, but avoid the low end stuff from any of them.

Darren from the club was advertising some take off stuff not to long ago. Might see if he still has them.

I got all my disc brake stuff from Denny at Auto City Classics. Pretty sure the rotors will fit inside 14" rims.
I've heard The Right Stuff conversion kit is good too. Although if you use their kit that uses the stock drum spindles, it spaces the wheels out 3/16 or so each side.
