I used to work with someone that went every year, and it's kind of been on my list for awhile. Looks like Iola is about 4 hour drive from Twin Cities metro.
Seems to be a pretty decent size show with 2500 cars or so.

Something that's on my list of shows to get to.
We will have to see what the summer brings.

I used to go, but haven't been there in about 10-12 years.

There is a 20% discount thru this month off the $28 three day pass cost, so pretty reasonable compared to SMN's.

I went about 4 years ago and it's huge. I mainly went for the swap meet, looking for parts for my Chevelle. MOST of what was there was much older. I DID manage to come home with a 1 piece trunk floor for the Camaro...
The car show was OK, but not like SMN and it's in an open field.
STILL, something fun to do, but it took me about 5 hours from Stillwater. Stan may want to get a motel for the night...
I'd be up for going, if the weather and covid crap co-operate.

I went to college with a guy from Iola. Went one year. Fun time. I drank a lot, got sunburnt, etc. I drove my old ‘68 Cougar there from Superior, WI. Kind of a harrowing journey, that Cougar was “car guy safe”.

The last time I was there was when you & I went. Actually, think we went 2 years in a row IIRC.
I know this, if you think walking around the MN fairgrounds is a lot. You best make sure you have comfortable shoes for this AND make sure your wearing sunblock as well. Every year it never fails its 90 plus during the weekend of Iola and bringing plenty of water to drink too.

I only remember one year, we left from Pan-o-Prog in my Chevelle and drove through the night, then off-roaded through a ditch to park because the gate wasn't open yet, then slept in the car for an hour or so before gates opened.

I missed the significance of this, if you are considering going for more than 1 day, book a hotel NOW !! I tried to book one only a couple months out 3-4 years ago, and I would have been 40 miles away !! There is a very limited amount of places to stay closer.
Has anyone ever gone?
