Well, now that I have the Olds 442 running/driving great guess what...I got bored! Lol So started checking out the ads for Chevelle's again, as the 442 is a great car and has lots of cool stuff about it, and I had my fun, but it's not a Chevelle.
I put the 442 on FB Market place and CL, and had a few bites but nothing serious. So, decided trading it in would be the best deal in the current slow selling times. I found this '69 Malibu vert at Unique Collector Cars in Mankato, and we worked out a deal. The Malibu was owned by someone down in Prior Lake, so fairly local. It came from the east coast before that, so I looked hard at the usual vert rust areas since I learned so much on the '72 vert resto, and this is a pretty clean car.
It's got good bones, but needs a lot of mechanical maintenance like shocks, disc brake conversion (I still have all the leftover when i was going to do it on the '71), different exhaust (get rid of the glass packs and under the tank exit of the pipes...), and so on.
The 350 engine was recently rebuilt and I have the receipt from what was done. It's possible it's the original numbers matching engine, but I still need to take a look at the block stamping.
It will take me some time to 'Stanitize' it, but it should keep me occupied for at least a year this time. Lol

That a Boy Stan, hopefully we get a chance to park nest to each other before you get the itch to trade.

The bowtie is crooked on the grill. Fix that! Otherwise it looks great.

I just don’t know what to say, but I’ll look forward to whatever you have planed for this one. Is there armorer plating in the trunk?

After the 3 blue '72's we've had already, this makes blue number 4.

I did some research on the Trim Tag and found out that it was assembled in Canada, so I'll be requesting the original build documentation from GM of Canada!
Here's what I found from the tag:
ST 69 Built in 1969
13667 Division & Body Style (Convertible)
OS Oshawa, Canada Assembly Plant
473029 Fisher Body Data Processing #
TR Codes:
790 Parchment Coated Fabric Bench Seat
711 Medium Bright Blue (aka Le Mans Blue in the U.S. version)
A White Top
6A Built First Week in June, 1969
C06 Power Top
M38 TH350 Trans
The GM Canada docs are supposed to show the engine stamping numbers, other build options, and the dealer it was shipped to. I'm going to have a reproduction window sticker put together based on that info.
The inner plastic fenders also have 'Made In Canada' molded in them, so all the signs are there it's a Canada built car. Kind of cool, so hoping I can get the docs from GM.

VERY cool that is an Oshawa built car..
Call George Zappora. He can have an original window sticker made for you, along with the build specs.

It's a 300 Deluxe grille too, FWIW.
Be interesting to see all the options it came with.
