Crocus yellow and Black, wrecked r/side, partially repaired, beat the crap out of it.
Ended up parting it out.
Still have the R/R 1/4 panel from that car.
My obsessiveness finally caught up to me and I started re-acquiring 1956 cars and parts two years ago.
Two post 2dr. sedans, one four door post no titles, and miscellaneous parts, fenders, hood etc.
Been watching for a 56, preferably complete, with title.
Pricing for average or below with title were high teens up to late 20K.
The nice drivers were 40k plus, not in the budget, no way no how!
Soooooo, Hilpipre Auction, Iowa.
Basket case 56 with title, lots of parts, some NOS. It is a mid-project car, needing much but doable.
Bought Car, included parts, Rotisserie, Spare hood, new grille, and a couple of other pieces.
Will inventory and put in the shelf, did the same with a mid project 68 Biscayne several years ago.
The 96 Corvette I bought this spring was for no other reason than being a Drivetrain/ suspension donor for a 1956.
Current priorities:
Inventory the 56
Deal with rear differential and electric fan on Biskwik
Have 2-2003 suburban (no rust) to freshen interiors and make mechanically operable. one 2wd 5.3 one 4wd 3/4 ton 8.1
Clean and organize at the "Treasure Chest".
Save up and order trans set up to go behind my 427 crate motor.
My other rotisserie is on loan, so until that returns I can play with these other projects.
Guessing roto will be gone for another year.
When that comes back I need to finish underside of Blue Elky and move on that.
Filled a roll-off this weekend, got rid of car scraps and some old Spray booth parts I was saving.
Still working on winter storing the other toys!
Now if my body could work as fast as my mind I would be in good shape!

The first car I could leagally drive at 16 was a 56 (had 2 others prior to that)

I have my roto sitting in my way and no plans for it in the immediate future. Be happy to bring it down and get that Elky on it so it can get DONE...

OR, complete dismantling of a '96 Corvette...
Sheesh, no end to stuff we could get dirty with at that event...

My son-in-Law has been busting his tail on the white Elky.
Current Bow Tie Brunch project:
Assemble Engine and trans, drop in to white car. Long block is done, trans is done.
Install Distributor, wires, coil etc.
Probably water pump, exhaust manifolds, get almost ready to fire.
Could also do Electric fan install on Biskwik if I drag it out, orrrr swap Differential assembly, add power brake booster and bleed.
Goal is to focus on Elky, then can continue on wiring, cooling and exhaust.
Intend to keep collecting 56 stuff, if I never get it done, should be a fun auction.
Feel guilty on Blue Elky, apart 24 years, next priority on that, detail underside, get all plumbing (brakes, fuel) done, then get back to HVAC and interior.
Both cars will need exhaust, will try to oversize, but still using stock manifolds.
56 will be a "garage, rotisserie queen" for a while.

That's a really great list of projects, Karl. Unfortunately, once again this year, I'll be at a gymnastics tournament with my daughter. I,m sure everybody will have a great time working on any of those.
