Not a Chevelle but, still an A Body Cousin-The Malibu is gone...

It's been 3 years since I got the Malibu in St. Louis, so you guessed it...it's time to switch it up! I had someone offer me good money for the Malibu at the Anoka show about 3 weeks ago, but I lost his number and he never called me back. So after thinking more about selling it, I ended up selling it to Route 65 Classics and got most of my money out of it. Thus, the search started. I won't go into details, but needless to say there was one 11 hour day involved with an empty trailer coming home from the Canada border. Thanks Jon H.! And thanks to the Chris' for being my appraisal crew yesterday.
After all the searching, found this 1968 true 442 about 20 min. from my house. It's a really nice driver and after being 'Stanitized', it will be even funner to drive.
Yeah, it's not a Chevelle, but i'm ready for something different and have knowledge (and parts!) that will work on this chassis. The seller threw in about $1000 of parts along with a free drywall lift that I needed to put up ceiling in the shop and free car moving dolly's!
I'll still hang with you guys if you will put up with a bumble bee cousin.
Thats should be fine Stan, we can put up ith almost anything for 1 to 3 years
Nice car!

Don’t fret the headlights, most Chevelle drivers will be looking at the taillights.
Give some thought to installing the W30 air induction system, its way cool..

Funny you mention that air scoop setup. I've always thought that was one of the cool ones.

Can we name it "Olds Yeller"???
Cool car. I've always wanted to see how one of those looks slammed on the ground with some big meaty 18" roadrace rubber to fill out those curvy fender arches.

I have already suggested to Stan to make a low rider out of it but he wasn't interested.

Cool idea. I'm trying to come up with a personalized collector plate, so would have to make it 'OLDSYLR' because I think you can only have 7 digits?

There's a Chevelle on every corner, so I can always find another one. They are always my favorite but wanted something different that you don't see as much.
The values on 442's aren't as high as an SS Chevelle, but they are solid money due to lower production numbers and a good following and like the Chevelle, a true muscle car IMO.
I guess I'll blame it on my Dad too as he was a Chevy and Olds guy. We had a Delta 88 and a '73 Toronado with a 455 that I used to do front wheel burnouts with in high school to impress my friends in the 70's.
Still in the GM/A body family but with a 'Gentleman's Hot Rod'.

Headed to Appleton, WI this past weekend for a car show. This was one of the specially selected cars they had on display.
Your old car (most recent) was at Cruise for Troops yesterday.

Nice '69. Some people love the nostril hood scoops, and some hate them. I used to think they were goofy looking, but can appreciate them now.

Yeah, I've seen it on FB a couple of times now. I think they gave it to a detailer to try to get all the orange peel out and he's been driving it around.

Ya I know, needing a BUNCH is true.
They say that time is money
At the moment I've got more time than money
Muscle Machines this month detailed why it can easily run $40K for a good restoration, concours will be more...
