Just a reminder to y'all to work safely, and be aware at all times - in the shop and in the house.
Had to go back on the road Monday and make some money. Come Tuesday morning I'm in the hotel room shower, washing the shampoo out of my hair, and the next thing I know I'm on the floor of the bathroom tangled up in the shower curtain with Tweety & Sylvester spinning around my head! On the way down I caught the corner of the partition wall between the can & vanity (the corner protectors work, not a mark on the wall). Had a 1-1/2" gash/split in the back of my head - which took 8 staples to close.
Luckily I didn't get knocked out, and the hospital/ER was literally across the street.
Take nothing for granted, and keep "action = consequence" in your mind at all times.

John, glad you didn't get hurt worse than you did. You are certainly right about safety, I as well as most breeze through a project and while on the back of our minds could always practice safety to a higher degree.

Glad to hear you’ll escape with a headache and a couple stitches, it could have had a tragic ending. Just the other day I tried to weld my left foot to the floor after your warning to never weld in tennis shoes. I needed to only do a quick tac weld and there went the blob on my left foot, lucky the shoe was loose and I was able to kick it off.

Good to hear you will be OK, but WHY did you go down ?? Did you experience a moment of imbalance, blackout ?? My Dad would have fleeting moments like that and his carotid artery was 90% blocked !! If you have even a slight feeling something like that happened, get to your DR. right away and get this checked out, as a stroke could be imminent. My Dad let this go for a couple weeks before he called, and fortunately he didn't have a stroke, but his DR was alarmed enough to ORDER him to get to the hospital for immediate surgery.

Glad you're o.k. John. I would see your GP Dr. asap. Better to get checked out and be o.k. then leave something lingering that could be worse next time.

Thanks for the concern guys... I probably should've clarified a bit.
I slipped in the tub/shower.
One foot went a bit sideways, and as I stepped back with the other to catch myself, it landed on the tail of the shower curtain hanging in the tub. It was just as if someone had "pulled the rug" out from under me. It was a slow-motion back roll over the edge of the tub onto the floor (bringing the shower curtain with me). If the room was 6" wider I wouldn't have hit my head.
No grey-outs, black-outs, stars in the eyes, or any other stroke symptoms (well aware of these, Dad had 3).
The ER techs ran me through the ringer, and had a hard time believing their gadgets when my heart-rate was 63 and BP 125/83 - after walking in and asking them to stitch my head back together. No fractures, no concussion, just a nasty bonk on the head against an immobile sharp-edged hard object. The damn sinus pressure from the cold I'm fighting hurts more than the staples in my head.
