Might actually have a car worthy to enter this year...if it gets done.

With the long sub-zero stretch we've had...I decided to think of warmer times and registered tonight for $43.50 ($40 early bird plus $3.50 'handling fee').
Don't forget the early bird price ends this month.
Bring on summer and the SMN's!

OK, I'm committed. Should be able to have the Chevelle painted and together by then.
Their website isn't working very well and I got dropped out twice, but did manage to complete the registration.

I'm not sure if it changed since I pasted the link in the original post, so I redid it and I think it works now.
The page where you can opt for the Street Machine Challenge appears to broken links.

It's running, just needs a few minor details. I put 14 miles on it before winter hit, but with open headers because I haven't done exhaust yet.

I'm signed up for the Challenge, so if it comes with a VIP pass (like RSE did in the past) I might be able to help with the early morning stuff.

I should be able to be there in the am. I can bring my cones again to block off the opposite side of the street. Still REALLY upset that the Chevelle won't be there...

It's this week!!!
Hopefully it's o.k. if a friend of mine from Kansas City parks his red '66 SS Chevelle with us. He and his wife are driving up Thursday, and he'll come with me Fri. and Sat. This could lead to others coming up from KC next summer. We'll see. He's the newsletter guy for the Mid-America Chevelle Club down there.
I'm going to pick up credentials Thursday afternoon as last year it was a zoo at Noon last year. Jon H. walked right up and registered since he wasn't pre-registered, and Tina and I took an hour going through the alphabetical pre-registration line. Go figure.
Looking forward to it!

Not sure if it matters, since we typically grab as many spots as possible on both sides of the area on the corner north of Giggles (thanks Bryan and Mitch!) and it's first come/first served, but thought I'd start a roll call for who is parking with the club.
I'll need a spot for myself and my buddy from Kansas City and his red '66 SS for both Friday and Saturday (most of the day), but probably not Sun.
Anyone else?

I will be there Friday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday.
I will also be spending a lot of time away from the club area for the challenge, so I'm not too concerned about having a space saved.

Everyone should have gotten an Email earlier in the week about the meeting and location where we are trying to park.

I will be there, but in my GMC, so will park out of the way.
On the main side, we only have from the corner to the hydrant. Ford guys were displaced towards us a bit because of construction. We have the complete side across from the campground entrance up to the house’s driveway as well as the corner behind Giggles’ where the dumpsters usually are (they were moved closer to the main corner)
Thanks goes to Mitch who was there early and got it all saved. I left at 2:30.
I’ll be there all 3 days

one last test run tomorrow and I plan to be there.
Joining a friend of mine has a 67 Stang but he's aware I plan to join the club if there's an opening
I'll be there around 9:30 so we will see if any open spots remain.
Looking forward to it

Great seeing everyone, great turnout on Sat., and time to put another one in the books. Other than the less than 1000 mile 383 blue smoke now coming out of my car, it was fun as always.
Thanks also to everyone for welcoming my friend from the Kansas City Mid-America Chevelle Club! As he would say in his Kansas drawl...'Ya'll are a great bunch of people that were very friendly.'
Here's a few pics I took, but I know Bryan and Hank too many more
I had a great time. I didn't mention at the meeting, but I was very excited to have my car there. 3+ years it has been disassembled in the garage.
Unfortunately i was heading back down today to hang out more but the fan/clutch/shaft failed and ground itself into the radiator.
I was planning for electric fan update and now I'll add an aluminum radiator to the list. As the wife patiently said standing by my side on the shoulder of highway 36 "just add it to the list of Adventures."
At least the little one and her cousin went for a ride earlier today prior to the "adventure."

Well, that stinks, Andrew. Guess we should have just replaced the old clutch at the same time as the water pump...
Yeah, I agree Mitch. I got caught trying to save a little just to end up paying more in the long run.
We thought there was a noise and several of us looked at the fan and water pump for any obvious signs but didn't see anything.
I can help out with a later shift.
