Hello. I had a few messages regarding my current projects . I took some time off of cars for various reasons . I've been doing many other things in life, grandkids, my kids getting married, remodeling 3 houses, been to Canada fishing maybe a dozen times in the last 2 year, lots of mountain deep powder snowmobiling in the winter, thinking about buying a WR400 dirt bike an going cross country mountain climbing and a few other things.
However I have my 70 frame in my shop and am currently working it. I plan to do this car at a little slower pace than I normally do. My stroked 454 for this car is over 600 horse and almost 600 ftpnds of torque. I'm putting in a TKO 600, repainting the car either black or red, AC,tilt, power windows and a few other comforts. I plan to make it look stock except headers. My target is to have it completley finished in about a year from now. My goal is to make it more detailed and better than the 69 But that's to be seen.
I'll post some as I go along.
Thanks for for the inquiries

You certainly have a good paint base to work with. I'm sure it will turn out great!

Wow, was that car stored in a warehouse since New ??? I don't see any rust issues at all.
I used SPI epoxy primer/sealer on the underside of the Chevelle and even though I am not a painter, it went on like silk. It came out great. The Eastwood color coat was as thin as alcohol and was very hard to prevent runs.
I'm trying to convince my painter to try the SPI but he wants to use what he is familiar with...

I really like SPI. Barry, the owner is an awesome guy to talk to. Products always go on very nicely. Low VOC products are very good as our waterborne products. Clearcoated tonight. Have a few more pieces to finish. Then put on the stripes. Will let it dry for a couple weeks before cut and buff.
actually yes I do own stock in Lowe's, Home Depot and a few other places.

I talked to Barry at length about how to set up my Devilbiss gun to get the best results and it worked great. What are the hangers holding the doors ? they look very heavy duty.

Somewhere on my computer are the pictures of the wooden body cart Tim put together to hold the vert frame during the resto. Kind of like Kevin/Dashboard that every car project needs some lumber in it somewhere. Lol
Tim that turned out like glass! Now if you put on white stripes and make the interior a white bucket seat one...that will be the dream car I saw when I was 15 years old. Maybe that's when my love with Chevelle's started.

I'm going with ivory / pearl interior, white stripes. The clear came out really good little bit of junk in it and minimal orange peel which is typical. Going to block send it with hard bocks to remove all the urethane wave in and cut and buff. Maybe it can be your next car Stan.

I've often thought pearl stripes to match the pearl seats would look good.
My current '70 was originally white with blue interior. IF it ever sees paint, it may get blue stripes.

I don't think I could afford it Tim, and I have a feeling this is going to turn out so nice I wouldn't enjoy driving it worrying about wear and tear (even though you always told me anything can be fixed).
