I've been away for quite a while. Have had some family members pass away, health issues to deal with as well as some close friends who recently passed away.
looks like you guys are still plugging along.
I do have a question for all of you I am finally getting serious with selling the 69. I think I put maybe 150 miles on it since I finished it. Question is what do you think the best method is for selling eBay, craigslist, other, I really don't have the time or energy to bring it to an auction. Just looking for some opinions.
wanting to get possibly get mid $30's for it. Do you think that's out of reach?
probably going to list it right after Memorial Day.
Thanks
Tim

Hello Tim. Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about your stretch of tough times! Hoping things improve for you. A site I like to browse and often see SOLD notes on is linked below. No experience personally.
Thanks. Just part of life. I'll give that site a try.

Hey Pops! Good to hear from you.
We must have STP or something, I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you had ever sold the '69 or not. Sorry to hear life has hit you hard. Seems to go that way sometimes, but things will get better.
I think you should be able to get $35K by asking $40K and going from there. Just my opinion, but I know how you made that as COPO correct as possible with all the right and dated parts, and of course your fine craftsmanship. If you want a comparison, there's a club member down here in KC asking $39,995 for a '69 SS 396 that I think is very nice, but doesn't have the COPO factor yours does:
1969 SS396 Chevelle
$39,995
Raymore, Missouri
This is the real deal SS396, 375 L78 solid lifter Chevelle. Frame off restoration was done in 2003, had a repaint March 2014. Burgundy Maroon paint code 67, bench seat parchment interior muncie M 20 4-speed , F41 suspension 331 posi track. Engine number matches VIN, is in the L78 registry. I have plenty of pictures of the underneath also have a video. No trades! Go to YouTube search Ron Brightwell February 1 2016 for a great video!

BTW, is your cell phone number still the same? I texted you, but no response but it might have been when things were going on lifewise.
fyi, the Malibu vert is holding up great, and I won best paint at a show last summer! So, the work you did is holding up my friend.

Ebay will probably get you the most money but it is just the hassle of dealing with it and the fees. I would try it on Craigslist first and see if you get any bites and if not then go for Ebay. Car is super nice I don't think you will have any problems finding a new home for it.
I don't know if you are a member on team chevelle but that would be good place also that would give you world wide coverage like eBay.

Dang Tim, sorry to hear things have been rough for you and the family.
I have wondered often what you were up to and how you were doing. I figured you were immersed in your sons race car ?
I sold 1 car on ebay years ago and it worked out for me. I stated in the ad that the ONLY form of payment would be a wire transfer with confirmation from my bank that the funds were mine before the car left. The fees can take a bite, but I think they now have a ceiling at certain price levels ?

Actually. The various Chevelle related Facebook groups are a pretty good place to sell as well plus some other classic car groups that are buy sell trade, that is if you do Facebook, some dont which nothing wrong with that. You could try Craigslist first, though since it wont cost you anything. Honestly speaking, mid 30s should sell that car very quick. A lot of car for the money IMO.

Good car for the money. I'd try Craigslist first.
There are flakes out there on any venue, but the serious buyers are all watching CL too.

Hey everyone thanks for all the good info. Stan glad to hear your car is holding together well. I think about all the metal we replaced on it or should I say rust good to hear that you haven't had any issues. Grafting in the tail on the rear quarter was interesting

If it doesn't get sold I may need someone to take it to the Summer Nationals for me and put a for sale sign in it

I would volunteer for that, but then I would have to get a second mortgage, cause it wouldn't leave my sight...

Tim, if you want me to spread the word with the Mid-America Chevelle Club down here in KC, send me a link to the ad when you list it.
Looks like some good projects on here since I've been gone. Someday I'll bolt the 70 back together and get cruising again. You guys are awesome. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Tim,
Craigslist is going to be tough in my opinion. I just sold my Camaro on EBay. Fee is $160 total. For world wide exposure I will take it. Good luck. Another idea is Unique Motorsports near Rochester. Consign it. They deal with all the hassle. It was reasonable.

Thanks Tom and everyone for your advice. I think I sold it. Stan posted it on the club site in Kansas and then someone put it on the Team Chevelle site. I had 3 what I thought were serious parties and the first one is coming from out of state next weekend (weather permitting) to pick it up after a test drive. If he doesn't want it I'll go to the next and so on. If all that falls through I'll advertise it.
Thanks again
Tim

I hope you have an honest person come thru and buy it.
I feel certain it is restored more accurately and meticulously than many of the other Chevelles around bringing higher prices at the circus auctions.

Nice couple came and picked up the 69 this weekend. It's headed to Indiana. Thanks to everyone for the help on the posts. It sold through the Team Chevelle website after Stan posted it on his local Chevelle Club Facebook page. I never really got it advertised.

It's good to hear you got that taken care of.
You, obviously, got what you felt was a fair price and the new owner got one heck of a beautiful car.
