This is a friend of Mike S and I. He wants to sell this thing and trying to figure out a starting point on price. What does everyone think? I was thinking 20k myself.
How is the interior ? Is the body straight and solid with good paint ?
With all the drivetrain mods and a solid body, I would start at 25-26k. He can always come down some. At 20k, I would be tempted to buy it to flip. A solid CA car in stock form should bring 16-18k.

Interior has a nice bench seat with aftermarket floor shifter. I think all the heater stuff might be removed, I'll have to check on that. Body is nice has a couple small rust bubbles. Does not seem like el caminos will fetch that kind of money. I'll have to go look at what is on eBay.

I know the 'Caminos don't bring Chevelle money, but up here a CA car is more valuable than a local one.

It's been in Car Craft twice. Once with a paragraph and photo within an article on the show. Another time it was one of 3 cars featured in the same article about cars faster than they look.

That notoriety right there is worth money, no really, people get off on knowing they are buying a car that is featured in a national magazine. I'm still at 26k as a starting point...

Waiting for him to send me some updated pictures and I'll have it on Craigslist shortly.

Still waiting for pictures? I think it was originally an air car and the dash has different vents than a non-air one would have. Is now push button start so there is a big red button inset to the left of the driver.

Is having some running issues. Gas tank is out of it at the moment flushing it out, something was blocking the feed line to the pump and it was losing pressure. So no I have not gotten any pictures yet.

Here is a picture I took when the photographer from Car Craft was taking pics of it. I prefer the new polished Torque Thrust wheels to the old Centerlines.
Neat car. I haven't been watching the Chevelle/Elky values for the last few years, but it seems like '64s are under-appreciated as it is, and El Caminos tend to bring about half the value of an equal Chevelle. I think $20k is going to be the top of the market unless things have changed significantly in 3-4 years.

Magazine write up was February 2003 Chevy High Performance on "Wicked Fast Street Cars" not Car Craft like I was thinking.
