Cool. Is the rope that runs through the cup holder and has the rock attached for a bait bucket or natures cooler for your beer?

The rope is tied under one end, goes across, through, then to the rock for weight. Its for trapping a.book, sunglass case, whatever to keep it from blowing away.

Those rocks also work well as weather forecasting pods. Getting pretty handy with the woodworking skills JD.

What is this "wood" you speak of, and how do you weld it?

It's a somewhat unusual material, it can be screwed or bolted together like metal, but if you cut it too short you can't weld on more to correct your mistake! You have to throw it away and start over.

It comes right up out of the earth and it won't rust. Unlike metal it floats on water; John's right never cut to short.
A very long time ago men discovered they could make fire with it, they sat around the fire waiting for beer to be invented. It is also believed that about this time in mankind's history he made his first major err in judgement.
He let woman get up next to the fire.

What then... She started in on how to cook the mammoth??

Far worse than that John. She picked up a stick and started poking at the fire, she may have even moved some of the logs around. This may have been or was woman's first attempt at taking control.

This stuff is my element... metal, and some equipment mounting "rack rails". The electronics that bolt to these things are only about 18" deep, but the supplied rails are for a "standard" data rack (30+ inches deep) and do not collapse short enough to fit the existing racks at the customer site.
The engineers at work were banging their heads about what to do. I happened to walk into their pow-wow and just suggested "Why don't we just chop a 2-3/4" hunk out of the middle, re-weld it, and we're good"?? (You could hear the gears strip) "You can do that?" "Sure" "Will it be strong enough?" "It'll be stronger than the parent metal..." "You can do that??" "Yup... just authorize me to charge my time against the job"
Replaced the dock bench planks and made a new "stuff/beverage" tray (complete with can holders)

Job done - 40 Watt Garage saves the day.
The shop knows I seem to be the "go to" guy when something weird comes up, and if I can get home early and work in my own shop I'm all for it!!
