Yesterday I ventured out to Mayer, MN for their car show. A good friend of mine from college, her dad puts on the show and I must say it was a great small town show. They had just over 150 cars, about 2 dozen tractors, a dj with great classic music, a live band in the afternoon, a tractor pedal pull for kids, a craft show for the ladies, and other fun things to do. Put about 150 miles on the ol' girl yesterday and the biggest surprise came to me at the pump. With mostly highway cruising and no 4barrel action, I got 15mpg. Way better than the 6 previously reported. I am a happy camper now. Squealing tires and sucking gas with ease, or cruising and sipping gas. AWESOME! I had best El Camino in show for a couple of hours....until this red one pulled in. I found the road runner under the Chevelle pretty humorous too.
Here's a couple of highlights from the last weeks of work
-12V wire replaced the resistance wire to the HEI
-Carb rebuilt
-Alternator bracket welded up, braced, and stronger than ever
