I've been scrounging these parts for a long time. This 72 Chevelle will be mounted about 12 feet up on my north wall. When finished the headlights will serve as my garage door opener lights. The hood has a lot of bondo on it, and the headlight frames were three different colors, when done it will be burnt orange with stripes. I just can't decide on white or black stripes.
I vote White stripes. Black just doesn't stand out on Orange.

Cool!
Some day I'll have to get pictures, but my brother has a wall in his shop with '66, '67, '68, and '69 Impala front ends hanging on it (with enough room left over on each end for a '65 and a '70)

Are those white strips white white or is there a touch of cream in them?

Looks like some type of a stealth drone. It's painted now and it has...........yep, orange peel. I still need the front six inch's of right and left fenders, if someone has some a couple of beat up old fenders laying around PM me.
Get the pictures D, love to see them,

I knew there was a reason I've been hoarding the headlight eyebrows Darren didn't want anymore, along with the 3 front bumpers and rusty domed hood I hauled from MN to KS!
I had already planned on stealing your idea Kevin from the last man cave to use the bumpers as shelves, so can you share how you mounted them to the wall? I'm guessing wood is involved, as you have a way of incorporating it in all of your car projects.
Don't worry about the orange peel... nobody will see it 12' up on a wall.
Obviously I'm partial to white stripes... but I think the contrast of black stripes with the orange and your white walls would be pretty mean looking. Just my .
I also have a the rear '72 bumper from the vert, tail lights, and a lower valance panel I've been 'storing' to do something similar like this but for the rear end view.

Seems there's a lot more Camaro's come up on an "Orange Chevrolet" search than Chevelles...

Stan are you going to post a picture of a Vell with black stripes? I may have missed it.
About the mounting brackets. They are made from 2"x6" wood stock reinforced in such a way as to make them fail safe. I've already mounted the bumper and have components ready to install, just holding off hoping to find a set of fenders. If I don't find fenders I'll mount what I have and do the finders later. Regardless I'll get up there in the next couple days and get some pictures of the mounting brackets.
Last weekend we drove out to Norwalk Ohio Summit Motorsports Park (100 miles) for the NHRA Summer Nationals and saw some real HORSEPOWER, and also some very loud machines running in the four second range at over 312 mph.
And can you believe, you could buy a full quart of hard ice cream for only one buck. Yep one dollar for a quart, it was great.
It's not every day I try to hang the front fourteen inches of a car on the wall. The basic 72 colors need more sheet metal to work, with just the front profile the 72 colors don't work, or at least I don't think so. I'm going to try an "extreme" color and see how it looks on my stubby little Chevelle. The good news is a repaint only cost about $5 and a couple hours effort. The time consuming part is getting everything to align correctly then build the brackets to hold it in place. Of course I'm doing all this while standing on a scaffolding ten feet up in the air. Getting lots of rain here so it's good to have an indoor project and I'm having fun with it. Still looking for fenders.
Here is my shop wall that Derek mentioned with the '66-'69 fullsize Chevys. Someday I would like to paint them but for now they are good enough, the 66, 67, and 69 are actually original paint. I also want to put some black paper or something behind them so you can't see the white wall through the grills.
Yes Kevin, the core supports are still holding everything together.

Your's really do look great. Lots of history on that wall, do I see some big block tags there? I wish I had a core support, it would be a lot easier to align things, of course having the fenders and a straight bumper would help also. Alright no more whining, I'll make it work.

Not as nice as Chads but it's done for now, still looking for fenders. We also added some neon signs and had to move the Gorilla.
Looks great!
Where's Stripper Pole Barbie....? Surely she didn't retire in the move to Ohio.

No, Barbie's here, I should say she's back, let me explain. She rode of with some farmer on a John Deere tractor, I thought she was gone for good, but it's not been a good year for farming here, the spring was just to wet, several fields where not even planted. The farmer came on hard times, the bank foreclosed and the implement company took the John Deere back. She came back here and sent him a 'Dear John' letter.
Now shes befriended this big Gorilla I have no idea where this will go, maybe a movie.

That 8 horse power wagon is pretty cool!
I'm sure you were in ice cream heaven with that kind of a deal. You always seem to find the best ice cream at car events.
I want the "Flavor of the Day" right under the Rainbow Sherbert...
Well, heck of a time to realize I don't like orange. New color coming soon, should make picking out the stripe color easier.
Why not green like the Elky?
Now you have to mount the tail-end on the outside of the shop!
How about silver?

Since we got on the topic of putting front ends on walls... just happened to run across this today for the ultimate front end/hidden TV:

Was doing a 3M job in New Ulm the last few days. Stopped at the brewery on my way out of town.
Not as nice as Chads but it's done for now, still looking for fenders. We also added some neon signs and had to move the Gorilla.
I think the garage looks great Kevin!
