My wife has telling me about there being some postings and conversations on the NSCC facebook page. Are we moving away from the forum as a general communication device or are we maintaining two? Not being one who is on facebook just curious, don't want to miss out on members activities, postings, comments, etc.

NCC Facebook gets maybe a post or two a week so your not really missing anything, it usually gets posted here anyways. Im a part of several forums that arent just car related and those forums have seen a big reduction in activity because of that website/forums Facebook page is getting quite a bit of activity. However, these are huge forums with hundreds or thousands of users. With our forum maybe getting 20 (if that) regulars, I dont think FB will be much of a factor of putting a dent into activity on the forums.

I don't do facebook, so you won't miss anything I post...
However, I am starting to believe facebook has cut deeply into craiglist. I hardly get any response to parts ads anymore...

I don't think you're missing much on the NCC FB page Jon. I'm on there only because I joined FB since that's the only communication the MACC club has other than their main website.
There's a couple of other members on NCC FB that aren't on this forum, but otherwise not much going on there.
And no, there's not a classified section on FB (at least that I've found yet...).

Since anyone can start a group on Facebook. There are quite a few groups where guys sell parts. Some are strictly hot rod parts, some are make/model specific. Some regular discussion groups allow members to post things for sale as well. Im a member of about 20 of them, Chevelle swap meet and classifieds, rodders surplus, MN classic car parts for sale/trade, Minnesota Motor parts for sale and trade, several different square body 73-87 GM truck classified groups such as Square body classifieds and a bunch more I cant remember right now just for those trucks. A few 67-72 groups that also sell parts.
Not to mention the classifieds not related to cars im a member of, Pinball buy/sell/trade, Pinball Machines for sale, classic and modern arcade games for sale, Jukebox classifieds. A bunch of Hot Wheels cars trade and sell groups and several model railroading classifieds. Thats all on top of the normal discussion groups for those subjects as well.

Im on FB and most that Derek listed too. It's nice to have a FB presence, but most of the time people will get directed to the main website stuff.

No wonder Craigslist is dead....everyone is on fb. Guess I'll just take all my spare parts to the scrap from now on...

There are still a lot of people using Craigslist. I see other FB users directing people to postings they have found on Craigslist all the time. 90% of the time, its someone elses stuff that they post in order to help out others.

I put 3 ads on Craigslist this AM. My bench seat, my B&M Pro Ratchet and my 92 Chevy Truck. Two of the 3 ads had people waiting for me to get home for the evening to come buy the parts. I didn't even get a chance to put them on our classifieds. I had 3 parties that wanted the shifter sold that at 7pm. As the brothers that bought my shifter left a guy from Burnsville arrived to buy my seat and as long as he was here with his truck I sold him a front and rear bumper out of the shed. Now I have more parts money! Bonus is two more 71 Chevelle owners who might be checking in on the club forum. We could use more 71s in the club!

Good for you, Mike.
I guess there just isn't a market for the 69-72 truck parts I've been trying to sell anymore.

Note sure if I will get the money it would take to be willing to let it go but I do have someone coming to look at it this evening. It's nice to have but only drive it for hunting and to haul crap. Could use the funds for other things right now and am working on buying something else to replace it eventually when a relative is ready to sell.
