My son just purchased a 1964 Chevelle SS that has a 230 six for an engine. He wants to put in a 327 that I have. Does he need to change the motor mounts and if so does anyone have a set for sale.

Hi Terry... Sounds like a cool project. What does the car have for a transmission?

Have your son join the forum Terry. He can start a project thread with pictures that we can all enjoy.

The frame stands can be an issue, as Chevrolet had 2-3 different stands for the small block. It all depends on which motor mount he wants to use. I would assume he wants the HD locking style and that will most likely need the stands for a 350 engine. The height of the stands changes the width between them and the location of the thru bolt in the mount.
If he is using urethane mounts, they come with different length mounting tabs to accommodate various stands.

What!! I have posted once before. Besides, I never had a good reason to do so. I did call Denny and they do not carry them so he ordered from SS396.

He is not a member of the club at this point but will probably join shortly.

The car is all original and is a driver. It is an SS car with a 230 six and a powerglide on the floor. Ultimately he wants to put in a 4-speed.

Keep me in mind for when the P-Glide comes out... I'm interested in the shifter assembly, linkage and all.

Terry I have a 65 vintage m20 Muncie I would sell if he is interested. It does need to be rebuilt though. I did pull the cover and verified it has no broken teeth.

Will do. I do not think he wants to keep it. However, this change is likely many months away.
