Ok so this is really a cutlass or skylark rear end but it works just as well in a chevelle and a much better rear end then the 8.2 10 bolt they come with but cheaper then a 12 bolt. This will fit 64-67 but is 1 inch wider in width. This has 28 spline bolt in axles no c clips. I just completly went through this rear end all new carrier and pinion bearings, pulled posi unit apart checked and reshimmed the clutch pack, installed new axle bearings with seals. It has a factory GM posi unit and good used GM 3.08 gears. With every upgrade comes some changes, it requires a conversion u joint as this yoke uses bigger caps but I have the part number for the u joint. It may also require driveshaft shortening as the yokes on these are a bit longer. This has backing plates on it but no brakes, all this can be swapped from your existing rear end or bought new. The housing has been sand blasted and painted with high temp engine paint. Any other questions just ask.
I sold Stan this exact same rear end and he is running it in his 72 convert that he has right now. Maybe he can chime in on the driveshaft length issue or maybe he can measure his to get an idea of what the length needs to be to compare what it is your car now.
Price is $1000 to club members.
I am going to do another one just like this with 3.42 gears but that one is going to be more expensive as I had to put brand new clutches in the posi and may also have to put brand new gears.
