It was a known BB/4spd car, but looking back at the frame-swap meeting pictures from several years ago, my brother Chad spotted the L72-specific exhaust hangers so it has been kind of known since then.
Chad also has an L72/4spd 68 Biscayne, but his only real evidence so far is the L72-specific front spring tags.

Maybe he could find the dealership it was delivered too from the corvette site and go from there. Not sure if available for passenger cars; but info is available for Chevelle.

It looks Silver in the pic. I thought Karl had put the car back to the original color of green.
Or was that the color of his car that he wanted to replicate ??

Mitch and Kevin -- you guys could do what I've done. I registered on Facebook only for the purpose of being able to look at other Facebook pages like these. There is nothing on page that would identify me nor do I have any Facebook friends.

Thanks to Chad K. for his efforts to research history. I never would have found this stuff myself. Talked to Owners # 2 & 3 Larry and Larry. One in So. Dakota and one in Marshall. The original partners that bought it new are no longer around. 427-425hp-m22-4.88 gears from Factory Owner #2 raced it with 5.38 gears an spun it up to 8000 rpm. Turned 11:50s There were a couple of old time slips that fell out of the glove box with the slide that I have. No reason not to believe him. Owner # 3 bought it with 8 or 900 miles on it. All on the strip. He raced it until it dropped a valve. He may still have the heads and perhaps, the window sticker. The quest continues The original block is in a Camaro being raced today. He sold it with a 396 2bbl. Trail cools after that. It went to Canada in 1989. At some point in time it was wrecked pretty hard, Floor cut up for Super shifter , and wheel wells radiused to clear slicks. I still have the original, rear valance, I don't think it was ever painted. Paint code is the really light, silver green. They had a real dark green, then Grecian Green, and then this color. I does look silver in some lights. My original Biscayne was Grecian Green. I will keep you posted if I find out more.
Almost looks like the tires are off the ground in that pic...

The slide was really rough, had it restored, that is when the THU in Thunder Valley got lost. Still has some "moss" at the staging lights.
I agree with Mitch, there is daylight under those shoes!

Karl, I didn't know your car had such an interesting background. It's nice that you've been able to trace some of its history. How did you become its current owner?

It was on E-bay. Didn't sell, I followed up and purchased later. Car was located in Edmonton, Alberta. Vickie and I did a road trip to pick up. The pictures were taken before I loaded the car. It apparently went to Canada in 1989. Just started the research, thanks to Chad Kiefer.
Fans of Karl's '68 Biscayne would be interested to hear that some of the ownership history has been discovered via Facebook...

Scroll down on the Thunder Valley Dragstrip page and see where the 2nd owner verifies it was originally an L72 425hp 427 car!

Obviously I suck at Pictures
I will try to attach again.
Karl
Will have to send from Shop tomorrow
So the original engine still exists in a Camaro. Do you have any leads on the transmission then Karl?
