ProKart in Burnsville is an indoor go cart track. They have a package called the Grand Prix, where everyone runs a practice session, two twelve lap races, and a twenty lap feature. We can have 8-24 people, with a per person price of $62. This includes the track license and helmet rental. The session takes 45-110 minutes to complete.
One race is about $30, so the Grand Prix is a much better value with a lot more racing!
This requires an advance reservation of at least 8 people, so I posted this poll to gauge interest.
We could hold this at 11:00 A.M. on April 18th with a club meeting after the race.

I did that a number of years ago with another club and it was pretty cool. Of course the cost has increased, but hasn't everything.
I'm number 3

We used to do this very thing right before the meeting at Karls every January. Im cool with it as well. Its a great time. Would it be possible to just do the meeting first then go race? That gives us the entire afternoon towards being on the track if we choose.
I would also like to recall some experience I learned from racing leagues when they first opened in the 90's before the NCC started though. I actually raced with another good friend of mine but on separate nights, he was in a more hard core experienced league as well and was a lot more serious about it, I was only into it for the fun and to learn some skills. I think it would be cool to divide the club up into 2 groups depending on the persons size. My buddy in the hardcore group was with a bunch of guys that were all about the same skill set, but he was 6'4 and there were guys half his size. With everyone in that league all some of the best at the Burnsville track at that time, the smallest, lightest guys were getting the best times just because they were lighter in the kart. So I think it would be more fun if members were divided into a lightweight class and a heavyweight class, or something more politically correct we can call it. Keeps the racing more even. There is nothing more frustrating then having to be flagged to "move over for faster traffic" when you are on a strong lap all to be ruined by another guy that's quicker then you simply because he weighs less in the kart.

Burnsville karts have weight boxes on them. If you really want to even it up, we can weigh in and light drivers add ballast, but it takes a little longer to get set up. I think they hold about 60 lbs.
I need to verify Jenna's schedule, but I'm in if that date works out.

Oh cool. They never did that back in the day. It sounds like hassle to me then. I dont know if we really need to care that much since we are there just to have fun.

We went last night and just did 2 8-minute sessions.
Jenna managed to crash hard and get ejected from the kart... no injuries, just shaken up a bit. She got right back in and ran some pretty quick laps.
I managed to be FTD of anybody who raced there on Saturday, so that was kind of cool... 3rd fastest of the whole week according to the print-out, but I don't know if that includes leagues or not.

Sounds like a good time but I'm not
available. I voted not interested because I don't want to be included in the head count.

Actually, I voted yes but probably should have also voted no for the head count reasons. I have a wedding to be at by 3PM and would need to be out the door at 2:30 at the latest so I plan to attend the actual business meeting itself but will not be able to race.
