Going to Florida, assuming that this 66 convert is still for sale, what you guess would be a good offer?

Appears to be a repro hood that fits terrible. Lines are all wrong and the inserts don't fit good. Rear wheel well trim fit is bad, deluxe seat belts in the rear, standard in the front. Part of the trunk floor has been replaced. Why a blue steering column in a black interior and why is the turn signal lever slanted up so much? Small block radiator ?? Will it cool a big block ? Firewall seam looks suspicious, like it has a lot of sealer gobbed on. No pics of the underside, floor pans, frame, steering, suspension etc.
To me, it looks like a flipper car that's been thrown together with no real info about the drivetrain, other than a rebuilt engine.
$18-20k

X2 on the repo ss hood on a Malibu. I did' notice the rear wheel well trim fit or what looks like a seam in the trunk. I did see the standard and deluxe seat belt and an awful looking blue steering column. The must have did some modifications to retain the radiator spacer along with the BBC. Thanks, Jim

Something about Florida collector car dealers that just gives me the willy's... not sure what it is. Maybe from watching too many episodes of South Beach Classics and that creepy ex-boxer dealer guy with the blond wife.
I'd say they'll get $25K from somebody just because of the color, pretty clean looking car other than the small easily fixed details you guys already mentioned, and as everybody knows... when the top goes down, the price goes up!

It's the lack of attention to the "small, easily fixed details" that throws red flags all over the place. If they don't take the time to do the obvious repairs, what has been left un-done, or done shoddily that we can't see in the pics ?? Another reason I believe it's a flipper. It will sell for exactly the reason you state, Stan. Shiny new paint in a highly desirable color and a convertible. Some un-informed person will fall in love and have to have it without having a quality inspection done.
We have a '71 Camaro in the shop at Centerline right now that is a prime example of this type of car and I guess it's because I see how flippers get slapped together and suck people in that has me doubting the quality of many "restorations".

Jim, You are the 66 expert, we come to you with these questions. I think Mitch and Stan are correct the car has several flaws and as Mitch points out you need to worry about whats under the dress. But then it could have potential, could be a diamond in the ruff, the question might be, what would it take to get it to the next level?
Is that a stock 66 shiftier?
Stan, I never watched South Beach Classics for the cars.

Shifter, handle...all the same. Looks like it may be from a second gen Camaro. I missed that...

Looks like $29,900 was the final answer and Stan was right.
