Replacing the original finish on a hold Holley Carb

Has anyone had any experience or know of someone that has experience with this Carb Restoration Service?
Carb Re-Color Seem reasonable at $85 plus shipping both ways. I looked into what it would cost to get a set up from Casswell plating and it looks to be cost prohibited; but also looks to be an interesting project.
Or is there someone local that does this for a reasonable price? If possible, I would like to see an example of his work before I handed it off to him. There is a great guy in OH who will rebuild and restore; but he is so busy he will only do full restoration of an original carb that has never been touched by a company that restores carb. Seems it is hard to find someone that does this kind of work?

Check with the carb shop on White Bear Ave. just south of 36 in Maplewood. I herd they will send them out for plating,
A friend took his 3 GTO carbs there and seemed happy with the them. I don`t know what it charged him.
I would think if you just brought them the carb body and fuel bowls only verses the complete carb that should be less $$$

I believe Holley still has their custom shop that specializes is doing restorations on vintage carbs, including the plating.

I had a bad experience with Holley. I sent them a throttle plate to have the primaries re-bushed. Only the the primary is re-bushed because they are nylon bushings for the secondary shaft and that never wears out. Well guess what they drilled and put in new bushing in the front and the back and did a bad job of that. So they sent me a hole new throttle plate, which worked; but is quite a bit different than the throttle plate for a 66 carb. I would never send then another thing.

Didn't Eastwood sell a correct color for this in a spray can?
I can't speak for how accurate it is, though. I just remembered they sold it.
Holley's factory procedure is a dip or plating process. I'd trust them to accomplish that more than I would a repair...

That is just paint. If done correctly, you clean/ bead blast lightly and apply a plating of zinc , then you apply a plating of the yellow cadmium. Here is a Kit and then you need all the cleaning solutions, rinsing solutions, a beed blaster, and a rectifier, plus a few other things.
You can visit Eric's site This is the guy that will do it better than from the factory; but he only does to full restoration.
