Not a car this time. I bought a vintage "canned ham" camping trailer.

I can practically smell that vinyl from one I had growing up in the 70's.

The cushions are actually in really good condition but they will eventually get new fabric in the period colors of Turquoise and Ivory, along with the table top and back splash.

So now you have two trailers, like his and hers?

That is the primary target tow vehicle. I am planning to build a removable frame hitch for the '66's too...
I sold the R-pod I had last spring. It was too tall and pulled like a big sail. Even my K1500 struggled at 65 mph and got 9 mpg...

That is super cool. I am jealous! Would you consider loaning/renting it for a weekend? I'd like to sample camping in one of these with the family before committing to a purchase.

Scott, I think it is too small for you... I only have a couple inches head room in the center and that is a dropped well. The body is also only 10' long and 6' wide. It would be cramped for a family. It should be fine for me to wander around the country in the summer and 1 trip with the better half.
It's already put away for the winter but once I bring it home and start the renovations/upgrades, it would be great if you came by to see it.
Maybe we could incorporate that into a "tech session" and get everyone polishing out the aluminum..

Sounds cool Mitch! I need to learn more about these vintage trailers before I buy one online and learn I can't stand up in it.
