Happy belated Thanksgiving to all! It was nice to see Roger a few weeks ago, and yes neither of us had looked at our front bumpers in six years. On the positive side, the bumpers still look great: not a scratch on them. Someone mentioned committing to getting the car done, but there are other commitments that come first. Plus the job thing keeps getting in the way. Anyhow, I am actually making progress: here's a pic of the new floor with cross braces welded on and painted. Next job: get it into the car!
As for committing to the job, all it takes is 5 minutes a day. If you are staring at drilling out 200 spot welds to remove the old floor, that can seem daunting and it's easy to be discouraged and put it off. Instead, go out in the garage for 5 minutes and drill out as many as you can get. After a few days of that, you'll be surprised at how much progress you've made and it gets the incentive and drive back to keep going and get them all drilled out.
I have no idea if your old floor is still in the car, but the idea is the same. Do SOMETHING for a short time every day or 2 and just get a little done at a time. It will add up to big accomplishments in the long run...
Good luck with the project...

Good to hear from you too, Derek, and thanks for putting Roger in touch with me. I can't believe that anyone else was as slow as me in putting their bumper on.
I know what you mean about those spot welds, Mitch, there must have been at least that many to drill out. The floor is completely out now and I'll be putting in the new one this winter.
Thanks,
Paul

Looking forward to more updates on the progress on the car, no matter how slow it is going.
If you got all the welds drilled out, you are doing fine on making progress

If you want a hand with that, the club could schedule a "tech session" and get a few people to assist...
