For those that need some extra tools and like Craftsman tools, I have found that Sears cuts their prices by 50% or more over the holidays. Watch for their adds.

IF and that is a big IF, you don't mind getting up around 3 am, Black Friday has had some awesome deals on tools, but they sell out quickly.

They will give you a rain check if sold out.

That's changed. It used to be when the supply ran out, it was over. Many stores in the past would only have a few items of high popularity and people would fight over them in the store...

Decided it was time to use my Sears gift card from last Christmas and see if i could get a good deal today. got a 20 piece Craftsman metric/SAE combo wrench set with the built in ratchets for 49.99, Reg. (not that anyone ever pays it) was 120. will be nice for those tight places while working on the cars.

Nice !!
I used a Menard's gift card from last Christmas today too. I forgot I had it in a cubby hole in the kitchen. I found it a couple days ago along with cards for Home Depot and Fleet Farm...

Not really tools, but more 'storage devices' I braved the lines at Menard's for the shelving units to store more stuff:
I bought the same scaffold I 'borrowed' from Dashboard for 3 years that make great storage shelf above/below, and I will need it for the tin work on the 11' ceiling in the future (saved $80 on that alone):

Braved is right! i had to go to the Burnsville Menard's for some shelving components (2.0 upgrade for more room in the closet for Cheryl). the lines were 15 to 20 deep and people were standing in line to get carts. at least the shelves to match were there, but not on sale, that was still a lot cheaper than Amazon Prime.

Home Depot had the best black friday deals on tools this year by far. Grabbed a bunch of stuff today and realized I forgot something and made a second trip while I was on the road working and stopped at a different HD location, ended up grabbing a bunch more stuff. HD had the top of the line Dewalt driver and impact on sale today which I had my eye on for several months for doing HVAC but ended finding it on Amazon's black friday sale for over 50 dollars cheaper so I ordered it there instead. For 10 dollars each, Menards had a set of Stanley metal cutting shears that work great for cutting sheetmetal and ductwork as well as a 3 pack of Stanley adjustable wrench's that are much nicer then the junk I bought from Harbor Freight and never used.
There wasn't a single thing at Sears I needed or of any interest.

Stan you were actually providing free storage for the scaffolding; it is handy isn’t it?.
I braved the lines at Menard’s today and picked up some heavy duty rack shelving on sale for $99.00.

Sadly, there is no longer a Sears in Rochester.
Most of my tools and my toolbox came from there, starting with my first tool set I received for Christmas when I was 12.

I find it hard to beat the quality of Craftsman tools for the price.

I have several of those shelf units, including a larger version on casters which holds all my nut/bolt drawer units.

Couldn't help myself. Picked one of these up the other day for the new garage.
They're not exactly the same item. As it turns out, the Menard's version is all stainless and welded together. The Sam's Club version requires complete assembly. Hundreds of screws from what I read.

You're better off with the stainless one. Worth the additional funds...

If thats the case Keith. I would stick with the one you already have. Sounds like a more sturdy unit if its fully welded.

K you're going to like it, I saw one the other day at Menards, it is better built than the one from Sams and the drawer arrangement is better. It's very handy to be able to move your workbench around the shop and under the lift. I may just get Angie one for Christmas.

I saw that in the ad too Keith. I think it is like one that Dashboard has, and it seemed to work great for him.
I've looked at them at Sam's Club and really like them but I already have 4 roller cabinets...
Of course after my last spending spree, I need more drawer space.
And the one at Sam's is $100 cheaper!
Uh oh, sorry. Maybe you can return the one you have ??
OR print out the page with the box and price http://www.samsclub.com/sams/ultra-heavy-duty-12-drawer-rolling-workbench/prod1480010.ip?navAction= from Sam's web site and take it in to Menard's for a refund.
