Would be worth considering, if you could like the paint color. I could be a twin to Mitch's 66.

WHY would you paint a car that needs floor pans ???????
That's a $1500 rolling shell, even with the paint... who knows how much bondo is in the fenders, rockers and quarters with that much floor damage.

I'm with you Mitch... makes no sense whatsoever. Can you say daylight through the floor pans, but boy does it look nice on the outside?

A friend here in Lake City brought a 66 Malibu back from CA a couple of years ago. Floor was rusted on passenger side and some rust in the truck and a little rust on one side by the rear window.
Perfect quarters, perfect doors, perfect front fenders, and perfect hood, trunk lid, roof, and perfect pinch weld area on front window. Perfect frame. Car was in primer and needed a complete interior due to the CA temps. You would not find a better 66 body for under $5K here in the midwest, if you can find one at all. Motors and transmissions are a dime a dozen. Stan, didn't you trade, floor had to be replaced and you were probably going to replace the engine, and make other upgrades?
Without looking at the car in person, there is no assurances as to condition and repair work. But will have to agree with Mitch, why would you not fix the floors before painting the car. Unless you are possibly trying to hid something.
We'll have to see if someone raises the bid.

Yes, I did trade for the vert, but I knew exactly what I was getting into because I knew it had body issues and was going to be completely redone and repainted. I didn't trade for it hoping to only replace the floors.
I think the point about this specific post is that it's like putting lipstick on a pig that somebody already painted it with bad floors. Most buyers will want to pick the color, know the condition of the metal underneath, etc. before buying a painted car that needs floor pans. I guess it is buyer beware as usual.

I have to agree. Looks like car sold. What are the fees on Ebay when you list a car like this and it supposedly sells. I thought; but not sure the listing is very little; but you have to pay a fee based on the selling price. So, if its a shill bid, what does the seller have to pay eBay?

I can't agree more. I would not buy just because of color. My point was, until you actually see the car in person, you don't know the condition.

Winning bid of $5000 at 9:52 PDT on Sep 15 sold by gman 1966
Then sold as a buy it now for $6000 @ 10.10 PDT on Sep 15 by gman1966
Is this new way to advertise, looks like first winning bid would have cost the seller $125 according to ebay fees.
Buy it back, then sell to an interested party on a buy it now.
