Got a nice note from a guy in Tulsa today... complimenting me on the LT-1 swap in Blackie.
I just visited your web site about your 65 El Camino.
Nice car!
I have a 65 Chevelle hard top that I installed a 94 Corvette LT1 with my 4-speed and stock 65 exhaust manifolds. Everything under the hood look original except this "different" engine in the middle.
I too am old fashioned and, I don't like the looks of the LS engines.
They are ugly!
The LT1 runs very well so I am satisfied.
I restored the car about four years ago and installed the Lt1 then.
I occasionally go to a big cruise and stand back to watch people look at the engine. It is entertaining to hear some of the comments.

Tulsa, Ok
It's really cool that someone will take the time and jot a comment down!

The Tulsa fellow is right -- it IS a nice car.
I suppose I could do some searching to find the website that he referenced, but instead, I'll take the easy way out and wait for you to post a link.
I'm a member of the fan club too.
