Just got home from a week's R&R in San Antonio TX. Sheryl's been there a few times on business, but this was my 1st time. This is a neat town, and I'd highly recommend a "couple's trip" there. The city has it dialed in with the "RiverWalk" area of downtown - lots of shops, restaurants, and just a VERY relaxing place to stroll around and decompress!
Historically there's a TON of things & places to visit - the Alamo, the other Spanish Missions, the Buckhorn Saloon, the Menger Hotel, Japanese Tea Gardens, the "Hill Country" winery's, Natural Bridge Caverns, and much more...
Also, Vintage Air is HQ'd about 20 minutes out of downtown...
looks like a good time, welcome back, we kept things outside almost the way you left them.

I lived there from '87 to '92. Went back this past January for a visit. Can't believe how much it's changed.
I should have given you directions to the tamale factory on the south side. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy but you're okay in the daytime hours. Worth the trip for the best tamales in the world.

"The big snow" was piling up on the flight-control surfaces of our aircraft as we were taxi-ing to the runway - cost us a 1/2 hr. de-ice session.
I tell ya, this sheit is getting VERY OLD. Thank goodness for good neighbor/buds who come over and snowblo while we're gone... my driveway and walks were clear when we got home!

We were there a few years ago for a week and I loved it. The riverwalk IS way cool. We did a sunset boatride too. Seems mandatory...
Did ya do the Zoo ?? it is worth a few hours.

No better time to have good neighbors than when the weather turns bad. Welcome home.

My neighbor down the street is in FL for 2 months. I got to plow his driveway after the snow "event" last Thursday.

Welcome back John. Sounds like you and Sheryl had a great time, and that looks like a fun trip!
Tina and I just got back yesterday afternoon from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for a 5 day/4 night trip. We had 4 days of 85 degrees and sun that worked out perfect as it rained Thursday night, which was fine as we left the resort Friday at 7:30 a.m. Met a lot of folks from the upper midwest, including Minneapolis. I'll share a few pics to warm up everyone on the forum (sorry for highjacking JD):
Within the first 30 min. of arriving on the resort, these were Tina's priorities!
We stayed at an all inclusive adults only resort that had smaller 8 plexes, so a smaller resort feel:
Beach area:
King of the Hill Iguana:
Proof I was there and didn't get TOO sunburned...
Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary:
And the nighlife at the resort:

Got that right. My wife and I went to St Augustine for a measly 5 days the first week of Feb and I didn't want to come back until April...
Having the 2014 Camaro SS to drive had a little to do with that too...
