Since this is the shortest day in terms of daylight, the good new they start getting longer tomorrow.
i guess it is time to get moving on the projects we "have all winter to get done".

Even took the car out (into the driveway), i cleaned up the roof rack and put it back on. Re-plating the rack will have to go to the back of the list. Interior is next up.

I plan on bringing up the cave to a warmer temp this week since I'm on vacation, and cleaning up the vert from its last drive in November.
i have a few smaller projects to do, then install the 200r4 before driving season.
Hopefully it will be an early Spring since we have had Jan weather ALL December!

hi Stan,
so what is the advantage the 200R4's overdrive tranny over the 700R4? does it not need an electronic control?
may be something to get on the list, however my turbo-350 has less than 1000 miles on it.
i'm with you on the c=vote for early spring

The 200 is the same length as a TH350, so you don't need to shorten the driveshaft. They also fit better in the stock tunnel. The 700 is longer and will rub the tunnel if you don't also lower the back of the case a bit, which then makes it necessary to get adjustable rear control arms to correct the driveline angle.
200's 1st and 2nd gear ratios are better as well. The 700 has a lower first, and a big jump to 2nd.

I'm enjoying the extra daylight, 90 seconds already. I did take the Buick for a drive to the car wash yesterday after it was delivered.

Also, the 700r4 is not electronic/cpu controlled, and have provisions for mechanical speedo's. The 4L60e is a electrically/cpu controlled "700r4"... basically the same gearbox, with an electrically controlled valvebody for later model applications, and doesn't have mechanical speedo (can be converted).

The rear crossmember mount on a 200 is ~4"~ back from a TH 350. Your convert MAY have enough room on the ledge for that, but I doubt the wagon would. When I swapped to a 200 in my '38, I had to extend the crossmember because it would be too narrow back farther on the frame.

With a 2004R in a '68-72 a body, the Trans cross member will go to the most aft holes without any mods at all. Works fine.
Same driveshaft works from the th350 too. Much simpler install than a 700R4.
