I like the looks of the new Silverado's and decided to do the on-line "build". To replace my current 2000 K1500 comparably equipped would be $40,000..
I'll wait until they are 4-5 years old and buy one used.

Looked at 2014 crew cabs LTZ with 2LZ with 4WD. Depending upon options, list from $44k and up. Buy price from $37 and up. I would recommend Lewiston Auto or Jeff Belzer Chev.

I was talking with a guy yesterday that is taking delivery of one with all the bells and whistles and his is 55k.
Not in my budget.

Yeah... I think I'll be keeping my 2000 Z71 with 212,000 miles on it that I paid $1500 for quite some time, unless I can convince work to give me a better one. (current shop truck is a bigger POS than mine, and barely fits in my garage, so I drive my own instead)

Yeah new truck prices can be crazy but they often have deep discounts or specials that make them less painful. Happy to have found our '92 K2500 last year. We have it up to 58K in miles now. :)

My 2001 Tahoe is getting close to 200,000 miles. Checked the sticker on a new one when I was driving through a lot the other day...$60,000. They did have it marked down to $55,000 though.

yeah, they are getting up there. Especially with all the add-ons that people "need". I really wish they would have a check off box type ordering where you actually can opt out on certain options. You might want to walk into the dealer though, the online price is usually not the buy price from any dealer.
I had them do a search for me when I got my Impala. I didn't want satellite radio, I didn't want On-Star, I wanted silver and dark interior.

My 2003 GMC Sierra is hardly broken in at 123K miles! It's starting to have a few rust bubbles, but just bought a new set of tires for it, so plan on keeping it awhile.

What other brands....
Stan, mine has 121,000 and still runs like new but the all to common cab and box rust are coming on quickly.

Oh yeah, I forget about that one. I actually like the headlights better than the Chev but not the grille.

F150 is a great looking truck and is as comfortable as anything I have ridden in. Lots of bells and whistles that the bowties don't have. It would be my first choice.

The 2014 Silvarado has addressed all those bells and whistles. Ford has a bit of more room in the rear seating and as a result is a bit longer overall in comparable models.
It even has the cooled seats, etc. Buy the way, I learned to drive on a 49 Ford truck with a floor shift and a 50 ford 2 dr with a 3 sp on the column.

Sports teams are not anything I'm interested in, especially the Viqueens after Zigi and Dayton screwed us with a huge bill for a stadium...
I hope the Pack whips their butts...

Interesting, if this is bowtie country, Ohio where we are moving is blue oval country. Ya just don’t see anything but Fords there, but it is farm country and they work their trucks pretty hard. Sorry to hear your truck is rusting away Mitch.
But you got your wish on the home team last night.

Steve M has a ford truck with the ecoboost motor and it is damn impressive. It hauls his enclosed car trailer like nothing. Motor hardly seemes like it is working going down the freeway and still has power to pass slow pokes. But granted with two turbos if something fails it is going to be expensive.

Has Ford cured their issue with head gaskets and the need to remove clip and cab to replace ?? I wouldn't touch a vehicle of any brand with that poor of a design and build...
