As some of you know the Engine in Biskwik is for my B/Block Elky 396 360hp/ holly carb. It was always intended to be temporary. Found a 41000 mile 454 motor out of a motor home. Unleaded fuel/peanut port/low compression.
Going in this week. Hope it still runs after I cleaned and painted it!
Will post more pictures as it progresses.
The last one is of a genuine Crystal Lake Automotive pen being properly stored and cared for by one of our favorite bartenders.
Congrats on the "new" engine. Hopefully, you will put the chrome valve covers on it to look era correct ??
If you plan to leave the trans hanging there and stab that shaft with the engine on a sling, good luck with that. That never works for me. I always pull the trans with the engine and mate them up on the floor.
As for the pen, my idea of proper storage would be on the other side of the cloth, nestled IN the storage "chest"....

Wouldn't want to conceal the logo on the pen.
It's all about marketing.
I agree with your concern. Should be interesting to see how it works out.

Todays Update! Lining up the tranny (twice) was not the problem. Too long of flywheel bolts was. Different flywheel for 454 and flange may be thinner, bolts stuck out too far and hit block. Fortunately had some shorter ones in stock. Sorry Mitch, those are the valve covers I searched all over for just to use in this application. If I want bling I do have a chrome cover for the air cleaner. After all it is a plain Jane Biscayne! Karl
That engine was for my original ElCamino. Was built 12-14 years ago. It was placed in the Biscayne to at least break it in and see if it would run. 360 hp motor with a holley. Ran ok but the cooling passages on one side are plugged with crud. Didn't overheat but it probably should have. Pretty strong motor. Will work to get the passages cleaned up and fix leaky carb before it goes into the BB Elky with a 700r4 and 3:73 posi set up.
Mitch,
Squeaked the tires going out the door of the shop. With 4:88 gears it probably could with a 6 cyl.
Still need to get a 3:31 posi. differential built for the Biscayne. Have spare 12 bolt housing, would like to find good local builder to do.
Any Ideas?????????????

There's a guy in No St Paul (Oakdale) that builds them. The 12 bolt under my '66 came from him....3.31 posi... I just talked to him and he may have a carrier and 3.31 gears. If you are interested in coming all the way up here, I can get you his contact info.
