I am finally going to get back on the GTO and try to get it finished to roller staus by spring. Then it needs to find a new home...

Yesterday I spent 3 hours getting the floor and inner rockers prepped and punched for final weld in.
All fitted and ready to weld in. I did that today but didn't get a pic.

Looks good Mitch!
And that's coming from someone that has been staring at floor pans the past few months...

Looks great Mitch! Should be a lot easier to sell with well-documented metal repairs to show a buyer everything is new and done correctly.

Or, just that much harder for Mitch to part with.

No, the passion evaporated when I got the '66 SS. The GTO was a substitute for the Chevelle since I couldn't find one I could afford at the time. Now with the Chevelle and '38 coupe, the GTO needs a new home... It will be a very nice, solid, car for someone else to finish...

Took the rest of the trunk and tail panel out today.
before,
test fit of new NOS tail panel and 1 piece Dynocorn floor.
The floor was SUPPOSED to be correct for a GTO with no modification needed, but that, obviously, isn't accurate. I've had it for 2 years, so there's no taking it back...

I got the front of the trunk floor welded to the passeger floor yesterday. Today I cut out the left wheel well and test fit the new pieces. Looks like they will go together nicely.
I cut the bulk out with the plasma and then cleaned up the spot welds.
Thanks for thinking of me but I have seats. The next owner can have them recovered...

I got a paint pen and marked where I had to sand off the edp, paint with weld thru primer and punch a hundred holes.
Sanded all the areas to weld, punched holes for plug welding and sprayed them with weld thru primer a couple days ago. Today they became a permanent part of the body...
There are 2 braces that drop down from the package tray and I couldn't get at them from inside. I punched holes and welded them from below. NOT FUN sitting on the floor welding straight up with weld flash showering me....

Got the right side wheel well in yesterday. Next is getting the body back on the frame to line up the trunk pan mounts and tack weld the pan to the wheel houses.
