Looks like the 66's are bringing good money in the 1st FL auction of the year. Take a look at this 66 I has quite a few paint dabs and crayon marks and tags. Some of which are incorrect as in the sway bar and tag, that was not available in 66; but it has what looks to be a aftermarket repo of the cowl plenum. And an aftermarket radiator in place of an original 3 row Harrison. And looks to have those puffy styrofoam thick arm rests that are not even close to the original rubber pads.

Nice looking car but your right. Those arm rests stick out like a sore thumb. It has the hard to find and expensive tilt column though. Hopefully the buyer doesnt buy into the stuff wrong with it like the sway bar and appreciates it for it being a nice car. Too many red flags IMO.

I sure like the air cleaner set up. Was that a Chevelle set up in 66?

The "Cowl Plenum" air cleaner was available through GM as dealer-installed optional equipment for Chevelles from 66-69.

Some people with Impalas and Camaros opted to have that installed as well.

The only one I have seen in person was on a 66 at car craft, owner was from white bear lake, he had two other chevys there. His was a nos unit, not a repo.
