This is in John D's camping stomping grounds, in a park on the grass, and craft shopping in Pequot and nearby Nisswa! We've done it 2 years in a row, and had a blast both years!
Our Event Coordinator Chad may have more info to follow regarding the drive up, cabin rental, etc. Stay tuned!

Are you guys going up Friday or Saturday AM? I was hoping to talk Shannan into running up there for the day with the F*** depending on the weather.

We're driving up Friday, then getting checked in at the show Sat morning.

Unless things go awry, we should be checking in and shining up about that time. I think we'll try and get the same spots as last year, SE corner of the car show area near the trees.

On our way. Should be there about 8:00. Hope there is a good breakfast within walking distance.

Well, like usual how this spring has gone... it was a very raw cold, wet, and windy day at the Pequot show. We had a mostly dry drive up on Friday, then Sat. was raw but we kept warm by taking a long lunch inside, and hanging out at the coffee shop across the street that had a cozy fireplace.
Mike (Oscar Z) and Shannon drove over and entered their Mustang, so we were 3 car members strong. Chad took longest distance award trophy, so it was worth the trip for some more hardware for his family.
The drive up Friday, and ran across a nice '68 out for a cruise:
At the show:
Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day for the drive home. Next year there will be another car in the running for best convertible!

Looks like it was a tough day for the show, were there a lot of cars? We had planned to be in the area and maybe stop by the show but plans for the weekend change. i did get some time in on the wagon so it worked out okay

Too bad the weather didn't cooperate. We had a very nice morning here and I was hoping it extended up north.

The show was as good as ever/any as far as organization, timely-ness, etc... but participants were down (guess) about 50% from last year. Frankly it was just a CRAPPY day for a car show & craft fair!
55deg's, drizzle, overcast, 15mph wind - that kind of weather that just permeates whatever you're wearing and makes you cold. The event organizers even bumped the judging & awards presentation ahead an hour - it was just the wrong day.
"Lakes Latte" probably had their best day of the year - hot coffee and a fireplace!

We were considering this until a few weeks ago when we got a schedule for our son's final orchestra performance of the year. He had a 4 hour practice Saturday afternoon and then a 2 hour concert Sunday at 3. It kinda put the stops to anything we would've done last weekend.
I had the wifes interest with the craft show, so maybe next year...

Put it on the books for '14 - 1st weekend in June. It really is a great event - multiple options for accomodations, cook-outs & cameraderie, and a weekend out of the "Rat-Race".
6th Annual Cherry Car Show
The Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club will host the sixth annual Cherry Car Show. The event also includes a craft show.
