Where do all the 10mm sockets and wrenches go? I must have at least three each 10mm deep and shallow 12 points sockets and as many six points in both ¼ ” and 3/8” drive, plus a half a dozen wrenches yet when I need one I can never find one. Is there a little metric garage fairy that hides just number 10mm?

If you want to find the one you lost just go out and buy a replacement, it will magically appear.

Look in your standard stuff in the 3/8" area... my 10mm stuff seems to migrate there.

I never have the problem of finding all the duplicate tools... I only have 1 set of sockets unlike some people.

Jon is right. Buying another one always brings the others back.

I used to lose my tools all the time, but I haven't lost a single one in 5 years.
They still go missing all the time, but it's those darn kids' fault, I swear...

They really should sell 10mm sockets in a set of 6 so it takes longer to run out of them. Same with 7/16, 1/2 and 9/16. I've suspected for a long time that sockets and wrenches have a life span and when it's up, they vanish...
STAN, how in the world do you get anything done with ONLY 1 set of sockets ???? I can waste an hour looking for a socket and I have at least 4 sets here and another 3 at work. I have 3 tool cabinets. One is supposed to be for metric tools, another for body work tools and the 3rd for mechanics tools. How well do you think that worked ??? Oh, the grinder doesn't fit in the body box so I'll put it in the metric box... I've learned to dig thru all three now, when I can't find a tool...
And my wife accuses me of being "organizationally challenged".

Check the cowl area and the hood latch hole. Mine always go there, so I made a quick tool rest that goes over the radiator area with a lip to keep tools from rollig off, rests on the upper hose too.

I think Mitch is right; somewhere near a place where old Elephants go to die; there are several 10mm and ½” wrenches probably some #2 Philips too.
John I always check the standard drawer to see if the metrics are there but the standards won’t have anything to do with them.
Bryan, I haven’t worked on a car in over a month. If it’s not a metric garage Fairy it could be a Leprechaun but I don’t think they come around until March, maybe a Troll.
