The seals are leaking internally. If it is the original and you want to retain it, you can send it out for a sleeve and rebuild. Otherwise, you can get a rebuild kit, but many times the bore is pitted and will still leak afterward. New ones are available that look just like original. Try http://www.inlinetube.com for a new one.

Looks like the brake fluid eaten away some paint. Not positive; but think it is comming from the master clinder and then drips down onto the frame. I don't think the fitting is leaking. Is there a repair for the master cylinder or do I have to buy a new one?
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a paint that is resistant to brake fluid?
Brake and Equipment warehouse here in MPLS does this locally as well without having to send it out.

I suppose you don't know how pitted the bore is untill it is disassembled. It looks like the place Chris mentioned can re-sleeve the bore. Besides Inline Tube, the Right Stuff also carries repoduction MC.

I had B&E sleeve the one on my Camaro. Not cheap but will probably never have to touch it again.

Cris, What's your definition of not cheap?

It's been probably 10 years ago I had it done but I think it was around $100. Give them a call they will give you an estimate. 612-378-3141

I got all my brake stuff from B&E when I converted to front power disc from drum. I had cores from a Monte I used in exchange.
