Well today was going great. Got things done that I've put off till my days off of work. Beautiful Sunny warm day. RIGHT ? So i get in the Monte carlo and go fill up the gas can. Just incase I need some for the **** blower. I've got the drivers side window down and radio playing some BACK IN BLACK. Now usually i'm doing this in the CHEVELLE with the headers open just a little. Drivin thru town just crusin. But today like I said I'm in the Chevelle. Then it hits me when I hear a nice sounding 65 Chevy comes driving past me. Damn it. Where in the HELL is my Chevelle. never fails I swear. YES I miss that damn car a lot today! But I didn't think it would hit me like this. Now in a way. I wish I didn't sell it. But with our plans for moving. It was just going to sit in the garage. So its better off. But I'm NOT. Derek said don't do it! But I'll get over it in a while. I'm sure I'll have something to play with next spring or summer. I just wanted to share my thoughts with guys that understand whats it like.

It's o.k. Rick. We all understand.
Of course, I can't seem to have more than 48 hours go by between Chevelles that I sell/buy, so I never seem to miss the old one...!

Why not take some of the money from the sale of the red one and buy something like what Gearlube has for instance.

Well Chris: Just because I miss it. Doesn't mean its my cup of tea any more ! More or less I'd think its going back to my roots . So more then likely its going to be another Harley. I know more about them and thats where my passion is. After doing that for 32 + yrs. its become a part of me that I can't give up. I've met a bunch of nice guys in the car clubs. But its a whole other world I came from. And I think Thats where I belong. Might not be right away. But soon. Got plans for that ca$h Ive been saving up. And were going to spend it in Arizona. I even think my Baby in the garage might be gone next year also. The Monte might be up for $ale in the spring or early summer. Its a very cool car just like the Chevelle. But its not what I want any more. So be it.

I got my first motorcycle in '67. I went 1 YEAR without a cycle since then. It drove me nuts not having one. My 2000 Springer has 8,500 miles on it and my wife suggested I sell it last year because we don't ride it enough. WRONG, knowing it's in the garage and available when I want it keeps me happy. I believe it will see more use now that I'm semi-retired ( pun intended...).
As for muscle cars, I came of age while the factory hp wars were waging, top fuelers were exceeding 200 mph and funny cars were evolving. Lumpy cams, noxious fumes and screaming tires were a big part of my life until 1981 when I got divorced. I felt the sadness you describe for 20 years waiting to get back into muscle cars and now I have so many, I can't finish any one. Some of what I have will leave next Spring to free up shop space and funds but I will keep 4 to play with. I don't see being without a toy for many years...
And the Harley........my son can escort the hearse with it on my last ride...

I'd rather be dropped in the back of an El Camino or Chevelle wagon.

NO smart ass remarks and I'll tell you where a nice one is! I just threw up my arms! Then he said.....(.Are you ready for it) ? he said go down here about a mile. Turn right at the 1st light. Not a big fan of the forward controls after riding with floor boards for years but bring in up. It will come back clean. Pretty easy to do with no hard bags.

I've alway had the taste for the Bigger Bikes. Most of my rides were Dressers. The last 2 I had I stripped down. Took the tour pak off the big ass seat and DE Chromed it except for the Motor. Which has Built. 112 hp. Plus I had the shortest wind screen I could buy. Think it was 3 inchs high . Had it it repainted Black with a couple of thin Royal Blue stripes on the tank and fenders. It was enough for me to tell my bike from the rest. Miss the HELL out of that bike !
