I am considering manual brakes for 72 Chvelle disc is front Wilwood discs in back Wilwood prop valve for rear. Currently not enough vaccum to keep good brake pressure. I have manual brakes in 68 Vette and they seem to work fine but much lighter car. Does anyone make a manual MC that works well in a Chevelle with discs all around ? I am seroulsy considering this to make room for getting valve covers off and generlly have good brakes and have more room.
ANY ideas suggestions ?
Any sizes work better ? any pedal mods ?
I was thinking of just trying a 68 Vette manual brake MC from AZ.
thanks in advance

I run a 70 Chevelle non power, disc brake master cyl in my 66SS. If I were you though, I would consider hydroboost setup like something off a Suburban and full size truck or a Astro/Safari van.

I have considered a Hydroboost. The only issue is I would have to run it off power steering pump. I hate my power steering pump no matter what I do it leaks and is a PITA to get to. Figure Manual would be one less failure point. I planned on Hydro boost this winter, but was looking to see if there is a manual setup that works well.

Call Wilwood and see if they have a disc/disc master. Any GM master can be used with or without a vacuum booster. The issue you have is that drum brake masters have a 4 lb residual valve to keep the wheel cylinder cups from leaking and that much pressure will cause pad drag on a disc.

I have a good '68 Corvette manual MC that you can try out... I'm currently not using it, so you can see if it works for you.
