New (to me) good mark cowl hood (non functional) that was never painted. Got a great deal, now I need to find the paint code for faded and chipped tomato-ish red.

You're due for a paint job anyway, right? Order up a couple gallons of Bright Red and do it up!

They don't have a spectrascope ?? I had Car Quest "read" the paint on the Chevelle to get a mix code and it matches pretty darn good. It didn't match any known color but was very close to Hugger Orange. I think that's what it's supposed to be but wasn't mixed correctly originally.

They start with the paint code, then adjust from there. Pretty rare we have to match a color, and if we do we call our paint rep to come out and do it.
As for me painting, I don't want it to look bad and theres some other body work I want to do.
Mitch, your orange came out as black in spots. I think you and Ian used the same supplier? J/k
I'm toying with doing a semi-flat hood, matching roof, and take the stripes off. That's after trying to get my red shiny first.
