The September meeting will be on Sunday, September 16th @ 12 p.m. at St. Peter Auto Resotorers Car Show and Swap in St. Peter, MN @ the fairgrounds. Map Link
Show Hours: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
When: Sunday, Sept. 16th
Where: St. Peter, MN - 36th Annual South MN Car Show and Swap
***NCC meeting at noon. ***
This is a good way to combine a cruise, show and meeting into one. The ride is down scenic Hwy 169 across the river.
Lots of vendors, food, toys and antiques. Big Swap meet, large car corral, doughnuts and coffee in the morning.
If you want to cruise down as a group we will have four different meeting spots. Stan's house in Rosemount, Chad @ Fish Rock Gas Station in New Market or with Craig @ 169 and 133rd @ the Louisville Bowling Alley.

The fairgrounds are not huge, you will find each other rather easily. It is a fun show, one of the first I took my 65 to about 10 years ago. I will definately have to mark the calander, it is about 85 miles from here. I would probably show up at 11 or so, I tend to need my beauty sleep!

The entrances to go south on 169 by Louisville Lanes are blocked off because of the Renaissance Festival. You might want to look into a different meeting place like at the Super America or Holiday Station on 169 and 78 / 41. I would suggest the Super America on the east side of the highway.

I think what's implied is you'd either:
a) go to the rally point closest to you, or closest "on the way", then that group would hook up with others at the "final" point at 8:30. OR b) If no "rally points" are close, and the final is "on the way", get there at 8:30.
then all groups would go in together from the final point.
If your route to St. Peter isn't convenient to a rally or the final point by 8:30, get there (fairgrounds) when you can and find the group.

So is the plan for everyone to travel to each rally point and then to the show or is each rally point going to travel on there own to the show?
Also does anyone have a problem if my in law hooks up at a rally point with his GTO and follows to the show?

Thanks to everyone for coming today!
It was a better turnout than I expected with 12 members that I counted, plus a couple of former members spotted on the fairgrounds as well.
Cool show and HUGE swap meet. I think it took me 2.5 hours to walk the whole thing and of course didn't find the one thing I was looking for (boxed lower control arms)!
Nice drive in on the 2 lane, and made it through Shakopee without any traffic from the Rennasance Festival.
Here's a few pics I took on my phone, but forgot to take any at the show...

This was the first time I had ever been to this show, or the fairgrounds down there before for that matter. I can tell you this is one show I will be adding to my yearly ritual not to miss. Lots of cars I have never seen before. Wasnt able to make it through the entire swap meet but I could tell by looking at the stuff that it wasnt the same stuff you see up here in the cities either. Impressive amount of cars and swappers. Kind of reminded me of a cross between Iola and the Frankenstieners show at the Anoka fairgrounds in some ways. I cant believe I havent heard of this show before, or if I have, I just forgot about it. Thanks Pushrod for letting me tag along.

Until 4:00am this morning (don't ask...) I had intended to go to the Hugo show. I was perusing craigslist and saw a certain Blue '37 was going to be at St. Peter and the rest is history. I agree with Chris, there were cars I'd never seen but a few I recognized from the Camaro Show at Stillwater Motors and No. St. Paul. It was a really nice day and I was reminded that it would've been a GREAT day for a Harley ride when I got home.
This was the farthest I've been from base camp with the '66 and had no issues, other than a faulty fuel gauge that went from full to empty on the way home.... dang, that big block is thirsty.

Chad always gets there so early he's looking at swapmeet stuff with a flashlight... and he's not the only one, there's a lot of stuff sold before sunrise.

My first time at the show, 215 miles round trip; about 14 mpg@ $5 (I have to use Octane supreme 130 @$2 a qt/20 gallons), so Mitch has company. I stumbled across a couple of the 66 chevelle SS rims. Even though I have 9 of the original steel rims, the price was too good to pass up. Lots of nice street rods. It was the first time I saw a casket being used as a trailer. Only negative was that I was parked about 50 feet from the music; a bit too loud. I did meet a couple of guys with original 66 chevelles. One guy from Janesville bought it from his bother in 68 when his brother got drafted; thats why I sold mine in 68.
