Jim, sounds like a great time, but too much going on this weekend...
Thanks for throwing this out there.

It was a blast only one other Chevelle besides me. I had a couple 11.0x times never got into the 10s trapping 125-126MPH all 60 ft times were horrible made it up at the 1/8th and last 1/8th and was told to slow down or pack it up no cage : ( Many times I had to go down the track alone which I did not like so after being warned I eneded up waiting for people to race. For fun I would start off slow let the other car get ahead then get on it to see if I could catch up. Many times I woudl run them down which was fun. Many thought I was running nitrous becuase of the way the car picked up mid track to race them down at the end. My son informed them there is no way I would have NOS in my car. I still could not dead hook and the track got a lot worse as the night went on which I found out is a product of street tires onthe track. Lots of new and old Cameros, Mustangs, Impalas, Chargers, GTOs, Buicks and a couple imports many new cars I did not know what they were. Audi, & BMW. Car times were from 10.5-16sec. There was a bike running in the mid 9s at 147MPHThere was quite a mix of street cars there even thought there was a small sample size of only about 25-30 cars an about 5 bikes.
I was told be many there that there is usually a lot more cars and everyone figured the rain from the south was keeping many away. You could see the rain and lightning just south of us. Made about 15-18 passes could have done a lot more. It turned out to be a perfect night for racing 65-70 degrees and little to no wind and no rain.
They had a burn out contest and flag girl contest. The burn out contest was very cool one guy with a mid 70s in primer Camero won. He had a set of street tires and just went on and on, I thought we was going to blow them up tons of smoke.
For $20 it was well worth it. I wish it was a lot closer 130 miles from Pine Island takes 2.5 hrs to get there, but to me it is worth it. Went there a couple times test a tune and they prep the track a lot and it was awsome. Midnight Mania was unprepped (street cars and street tires ONLY) They run this event in an attempt to get people away from street racing and do the racing at the track. The track is great and so were the people there. They even have a small fenced in area with a small playground for kids. They were telling me they had a huge turn out for the night of fire last weekend.
