Must be in the water on the south side. We picked up this 1965 Buick Special; she’s watertight, drives straight and has a rip roaring Fireball V6 backed by a Powerglide. It’s clean, very original and everything works only the wheels are changed but the original hubcaps and 14” rims and tires where in the trunk.
I would call it a 20/20 car that should do the ¼ mile in 25 seconds or more.
Congrats Kevin! That should be fun for you two to enjoy!

Cute car. Is the V6 all aluminum ??
If you don't plan to keep the wheels, let me know. They are a good match for my Camaro.

Now I get to say... Welcome to the Vert club!
Dashboard and Angie stopped over to show us the new addition, put the top down, and when they drove away I swore there was a young couple in their 20's driving it! Kind of like that new Camaro commercial...

I'm starting to feel a little left out. I have 4 cars and none of them are a convertible....

If you own a Sawzall, you can own a convertible.

We have had a 65 Buick very similiar to that in our family since new. My brother has it now, grandma bought it new in 65 from a Buick dealer in St. Louis Park which was still there up until the mid 00's when it closed and they tore it down. Its not a convertible but it is a 2 door coupe, its actually Skylark model. Basically a higher trim level then the special IIRC. Those cars are great cars for guys looking to get into the hobby without spending an arm and a leg and still end up with a nice classic. Yours looks really nice.
Unless things have changed. I remember back in the 90's and early 00's. There was absolutely nothing as far as support for reproduction parts for these cars. Nothing at all. Nobody made anything to help restore the early Buick A bodies and im not sure if anything has changed since then. Hopefully you wont need any parts to restore things on it, they arent easy to find. Especially repro sheetmetal, trim, and interior detail parts.

It’s a cast-iron, 225 ci 155 hp flame-throwing hold on tight Fireball V-6 that will haul a$$ down a really steep hill. I think the last year for the aluminum was 1962.
Car is a lot of fun to drive but it’s the base model, no carpet, manual drums, manual top. So it going to need some upgrades this winter.
It is a A-Body so there are lot of possibilities………..
As Chris pointed out there’s not a lot repo stuff out there for these.
Tim, yep, this one is Angie’s and she loves it but we need to upgrade the brakes for her. She is the third owner last one had it for five years. All the original paperwork is in the glove box including the protect-o-plate.

Too bad it isn't the aluminum engine. There were a lot of performance parts for them some years ago.
Being an A-body has a lot of advantages.
1) buick 350/200r4
2) power front disc brakes.
3) all new urethane bushings in the front suspension and new shocks at all 4 corners.
All of this is bolt in stuff and easily removed if the next owner wants it stock again.
