Might not watch any more. Fyi, it's a reality show set inside a parts store in the Bronx. Its an independant store, but setup like you would figure a large and busy store would be.
Completely laughable, though with all the ridiculous things we see and get asked, I suppose it could be real enough. The fast pace is probably accurate, even in the slow times like now, theres times we get overwhelmed like that.
Spoiler alert-heres what happens:
Lady brings in a hearse to have a exhaust noise diagnosed, also has them fix it. They're not a repair shop, they sell parts. Kid searches all over, can't find one, has a shop try to fix it, then goes to the owner suggested originally and preferred shop where he is told they have no time. He takes it upn himself to cut/ben/weld a new pipe section into place while in the shop.....
another guy brings in a delorean (converted to electric) that needs rear brake calipers. They bitch about how deloreans are a mish-mash of vehicles, but somehow get the guy taken care of after taking his wheel off to see what they look like. I actually went into a coma in this section because I don't remember what they were from, either a volvo, jag, or VW or something. He trades the parts for a spin in the car to go pick his kid up from school in it. By the way, its in the Brinx but the car has Cali plates......
the main guy is bronx style loud, annoying, and not very likeable. Honestly, they could have played the show straight and just used real life from any monday, friday, or saturday at my place and had a better show. It would write itself between our own internal personality conflicts and then throwing in all the other outside customers and stuff. Thursday's #1 customer: I want to swap in my 96 IMpala SS engine into my 96 3/4 ton for more power. Since they're both 5.7L engines and 96's they it's just a direct bolt-in right??? (was said with a more urban dialect). #2 was the what's involved with a frame swap between my 3/4 ton truck and "one of those Canyon trucks?" He wanted a better 4x4 chassis but didn't want to lose his mileage.?????
There's days it takes most of my determination to not go detroit pawn shop show all over them.

I watched part of it, dozed off half way through the show, so I was enthused. I think you’re review and description is spot on; another one of those shows created for the viewer with the short attention span.

I used to get that station years ago until it got dropped. I didnt miss it then and still dont today. This show sounds like a real winner.

I don't get speed either, but I can watch some shows from SPEED on Comcast's On Demand.

I didn't watch it, but listened to it while I was working on a project. I had the TV on in another room for the All Star Race and this show came on afterwards. Sounded like one of the dumbest reality TV shows in awhile. I don't see it lasting very long.

I didn't like it either. As soon as I saw the exhaust pipe, I said "Just make one, you idiot"...it took another 20 minutes of 'show' before he had to make one. I wasn't real impressed.

At least they showed him actually making one, including expanding the end for a slip fit (though it looked quite oversized) and welding it on.

Many of the Speed channels shows are the same way. Have you watched two guys garage lately? I swear they film every scene it in 1 take.
Gotta give credit for him knowing how to make that pipe (or at least the show seemed like it).
I call O'Reilly's, O'Really's. Whenever you go in to pick up your parts and it is incorrect you always get "Oh Really?" from the young counter person. Thus the term O'Really's, they say it everytime.

I wish I had the time to surf the NAPA, CQ, and O'R websites for you guys. I got pretty used to it when I was at Nissan, but thankfully, work has picked up to the point where I'm actually busy almost all day now. (it's 2:12 and I'm just getting to this site today).
