My son decided that he needed to build a new race car this year. Now that it is real close to the start of the season the push is on to get it done. I've spent a fair amount of days evenings and weekends finishing it up with him. He has done most of the work but for the past month or so it has consumed most of my free time. It's good to be able to work with him on this but I'm finding out real quick that I am not as young as I used to be.
His friend also needed his car painted and some minor work done on it.
So with these projects some fairly major family medical issues, my job... and building a swingset for my grandson my Chevelles have been stalled.
Hopefully I will be back on the Chevelles later this weekend or early next week.

4 years ago, when my son was 12, I found a nice jr. dragster for sale on craigslist and asked my son if he wanted to drive it. I was very dissappointed at the time that he had no interest but in retrospect , it saved me a LOT of money and time too...
I still don't understand his complete lack of interest in cars or working with me on mine. I've been a motorhead since I was 14.

My son too - it must skip a generation or something. You started late at 14... I think I was about 6 in this photo. I was the only one small enough to crawl in the bilge and get at the bolts!
I have 3 sons, 2 could care less about cars and one is is over the top.
My dad owned and opertated a Texaco Station. I have 4 brothers I am the only one who messes with cars. I was wrenching on cars at about 9 or 10.
We made it out to the track last night after many long days and nights. Need to add the sponsor / advertiser's logos this week. I need to get back to my cars.

That looks like a heck of a boat.

It is/was a "SwitzerCraft". Basically a hand-built to order, 18' shallow Vee - built in Crystal Lake, IL. This thing had only a 90hp MerCruiser 4-banger in it and would do about 48 MPH (indicated)!!
It leaked oil, and it turned out it was a cross-threaded pipe plug on a oil passage into the block. This picture was taken in the service bay area of our car dealership.
(My family opened the 1st Toyota & BMW dealership in the "greater" Chicagoland area out in Crystal Lake in 1970. At that time Crystal Lake was seriously in the boonies. Dad struck up a friendship with Bob Switzer, and we'd pull their boats with our 'yoda's & BMW's at events.)
